2. The AI was horrid at stuff because it was on Fool. Basically it has extra strings of data it goes through that are gibberish to slow it down. 3. Terror stars (I thought I heard) are coming back in Dark Avatar. But I could be wrong. One thing I like about not blowing up planets is that you have to take into account all the money to rebuild captured planets. Unless you just have 'em sit there and do nothing. 4. You need the internet to play on Metaverse, so if you aren't h

I'm sure they will eventually come out on PC. Look at Halo and the GTA's. Both were touted as exclusive to the Xbox and PS2, respectively, and yet they are now on PC. Granted it took them, what, a year to come out? Personally, I am just tired of most of the console BS. With hard drives and downloadable content, console games are rushed out buggy and undone. One of my biggest reasons to buy a console and games, that they CAN'T be updated and so must be finished at release, is slowly

Nice post on the origional post. Its nice to see someone constructively and concisely giving criticism on a game without ranting and raving. That said, I think there are some good points and some points you bring up that I don't really agree with. The UP needs work. I don't think many people would argue that something needs a little changing here. Also, I loved the wormholes in Master of Orion 2. Not so much a choke point, but a great potential back door to an enemies empire. And

As for your missles not hitting them....the other defenses count towards each other (missle defense helps beam and rail gun) however they do it at a MUCH lower amount than they would on their own class.

"Just wanted to drop some general Comments about GalCiv II, maybe someone in charge reads things here once in a while." "if you dont like that thought expressed(of which you were not the intended recipient of in any event) ..too bad." Hey man, just 'cause you got what you wanted....no reason to try bite his head off. Kryo, I would think, has a grasp on the concepts of this game. He works for the company that made the damn game. And he brings up a good point. WHat difficulty

Are you a programmer? Have you ever tried to code anything? NOTHING in coding, especially trying to add something new like a multiplayer system, has EVER taken merely a couple days. So shut up. You aren't getting multiplayer with this game. That is just a plain fact you have to live with. Stardock is not going to just disappear or go under in a few weeks. They've been around for years already and they have a successful game franchise in Galactic Civilizations now. Also, f

Actually a well thought out set of ideas. The only part that I don't agree with totally is all of 3. While starbases need a little up'n, that could get them a little stacked.

Yup, sorry to tell you that this game does not have multi-player, and will not have it. The closest it has is the Metaverse which is basically a big old scoreboard. While most of us would enjoy the multi-player, there was a big vote\poll earlier on whether a multi-player expansion was wanted (the expansion would be almost ONLY multi-player) and it was a resounding no.

Still amazes me how people expect a beta to be rock solid.... That being said, I haven't noticed any problems in game with beta (though I think I am still and beta 1) except when I quit it errors out....but then, I'm quitting anyways so who cares

I would go for getting a fully equipped fleet of ships (like the AK's mentioned, with offense as their purpose) and send them against some of their ships to see how they fair. If they get stomped, time for a new idea. If they win, keep them alive and raiding so that you don't get invaded. Also, you CAN take some time off of active invading to kill off much of their fleet. When they have no ships, or few enough scattered around their territory to be little\no threat, then you can st

Even so, the AI needs to build a factory before it builds anything else. I usually get max espionage and look at their planets and they are almost always building the terraforming tiles first.

At the very least, change the military rating from total attack\defense added up to something closer to the best fleet they can put together. It doesnt matter if they have a rating hundreds of points higher than me when they are incapable of destroying my ships.

Agreed. By the end of the game you are either in the hole or the game is in the bag....which I guess would be the reason it's called 'the end' But it would be nice to see a gradual increase in difficulty or something along the way against the AI.

I run into undeveloped planets a lot, regardless of map size. But they are more poorly developed in bigger maps. I think part of the reason is that they try to build the terraforming tiles and starports first, and without a factory that takes about a year minimum. Would there be a way to lower the AI's need to build the extra tiles first? That might help to get them moving. Spending 30 turns for an extra tile isn't going to help them the way that a factory, a farm, trade center or
