Whatever risky tech you discover would have a chance to create a random event based upon that tech. Example: Risky Tech:Realistic Holograms Possible random Events: Your entire population has become addicted to Galciv version #342367 done in complete realistic holovision. Do you:A:Tear down the holodecks:+5 production,-75% moral B:Force them to take 3 hour work breaks. C:Boost the concession stand prices 500% +10% economy.(truly evil) This may not influe

I noticed that in my present game with cultural victory on and all others off,the Altarians seemed to really hone in on culturally taking over everybody.Would having the other victory condition on,diplomatic victory,(I think I heard that they cant win through research),have diluted the AI so that they would have to work for 2 types of victory conditions,3 if you count military?

With the morale tweak, are the moral boosting specials really that important unless your being destabilized?Isnt the mean morale now 55%?And how effective is it to specialize on planets{except for border colonies that need cultural influence benefits), when you can only build one of each type of special.I cant build two research labs for instance, only when I go further up the tech tree which takes some time to get a higher level special can I then build something that will increase my research. It

Would they have said the same thing to an American audience? If not,and several people in the audience were asking about the war, they should have just kept on singin. It is pandering to the audience if you say something that you wouldnt say to the country that supports you ,by giving you the rights and the privelages you have.

What do you mean? the Arceans have the heart of a Saint! And Im sure the Saint wants it back!!I have posted of my hatred for the Arcceans.First in backstabbing, last in willing to form Alliances. If the Drengin ever took over their worlds,I would gladly provide the cole slaw!!

on a small galaxy, medium and a large.I ask this question because some people have compared this game to chess. But in chess you pretty much start out the same except for white which gets the first move.It actually kind of bugs me that your starting position effects the game so much. But I suppose it culd be a testament to the game AI that you have to have a comparable starting position. With the higher intelligence levels has anyone won with a treacherous starting position?

Buying research from another AI and reselling it to another will most likely keep you at a research parity with the other races, but it will not make you that much money unless you have a major advantage in diplomacy. But yes if you start out in a slightly poor position with regard to the other races and are also behind in research your poor position just snowballs from there. However I can see that higher level players may learn how to lease ships or improvements to keep up or gain an advanta

Just not in research.Since research is such a cash cow in this game any race that can get a jump in research can gain in so many areas. In my present game the Yor and the Drengin have already tapped out the cash of the minor races by selling them tech. When I go to the two minor races I have 1 tech to sell them that they dont already have and they are minus cash flow!Guess who could have sold them that with a higher research bonus.I know thats how the yor and the Drengin are popping out construct

Any suggestions? All other games Ive tried work fine.

depends on what victory your playing for. Some say propulsion or communication to get the universal translator. If you try for an early grab to take a colony do research that will get you a starfighter and a transport to attack colonies. If your trying for alliance concentrate on diplomatic tech.Trade for the other technologies.

Trade with the little bastards,uh Drengin.Get up that tech tree to trade.Or what I do with my first moral decisions is go nuetral or evil, yeah I know situational ethics,(hey Im a product of public schools),Once your powerful enough you can get religion later and play nice with the Saintly Alterians.Just spread your trade around for the inevitable falling out after the honeymoon is over with the evil cures. In my small galaxy with all AIs set to intelligent i had a warm relationship with the ski
