My AI opponents seem to have issues about building farms in 1.2. In some earlier builds, they overbuilt farms; in this one, I rarely see them. Many of their class 15+ planets remain stuck at 5 billion population for most of the game. Has anyone else seen this?

Regarding intercepting warp ships, you could sense the wake from their space warping. Works the same as instantaneous communication with alien races half a galaxy away. You could even make it a ship componenet - "Warp displacement detector"
I like the idea of combat advantages based on unspent move points. MPs could be used as a resource in combat, by both the attacker and defender, with a "tactics" prompt screen at the beginning of combat. Some tactics could include defensive maneuvering, flanking and fleeing (a reason to leave unspent MPs on some ships). On another thread, a poster complained about the inability to intercept fast fleets, as they could run past your ships on
I've also seen minor races react strangely to influence. This weekend in a game, a minor race complained about one of my starbases; however, the starbase in question was on the other side of the galaxy from them, while they ignored the influence base one sector away. I've also seen a minor race cover their planet with influence boosters. When I captured their world, it put the entire map under my influence for 3-4 turns before other border
I was playing this afternoon at Challenging/Medium Map, and conquered a minor race. Prior to this, my influence spread to ~1/5 of the map. After conquering the race, my influence skyrocketed! Suddenly, my race color spread to the entire map, every alien planet was in rebellion, and I got the "10 turns to influence victory" note. The influence ratios on alien planets were over 1,000 in some cases. After about 4 turns, the map returned pretty much to the previous state, although one
Is there a way to randomize the alien races for a particular game? Thanks!
When I autorun the CD, or run the main exe file, MAfee gives a suspect/malicious script warning. Is there something unusual about the Exe file that should cause this? I have never had this with another game. Thanks!
