I also have Civilization 4. Aflonse is right that its game mechanics are much tighter No offense but I believe =Aflonse was using Civ 1 and 2 for reference material, not Civ 4. I thought Aflonse's post was well written, not trollish at all. You may not appreciate his opinion but I don't think it's fair to hint that he was trolling o

Is it really bothering you that much? Apparently it is.
I could care less about the price of any potential expansion because that all comes down to priorities really. If you want an expansion badly enough you'll save up the money, it's only $20 measly bucks after all! I think it's lame that people aren't voting for Multiplayer. All it can do is make the game even more challenging and fun. I think that the majority of people voting no probably fall into one of two or three categories: 1. Thos
The magic system in MoM was indeed inspired by Magic: The Gathering. This is incorrect and a common misconception about Master of Magic. MoM, was released in 1994, while Magic: The Gathering was released one year earlier. However, even back in the day it still took at least 2 years for developm
I've never really understood how reviewers can give one game a review like "This is a decent game all around, and worth the time to play: 3/5" and then turn around and say "We weren't all that happy with this, there were a lot of problems. Rent it if you like this kind of crap, but don't buy it. 3/5" You see it on G4 a
Bumping...I'll bump all day if I have to darnit! Until I get an answer! MUHAHAHAHAH
Hey Stardock, Any word on when your mod area, the "Library", will be working again (to accept mods uploaded)? When I try to upload my small ship design, using either IE or Firefox, it kicks back out some string handler exception error message. What's the word, SD? Would love to be able to upload my ship design to your Library. Thank you in advance for you help with this matter... PS. Just to head off a wave
Stardock also hosts a file repository called the Library, you can find it in the Metaverse. Lots of downloads there. Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't work. I just tried a couple of different times to upload my new Firefly-class Starship design to it and no matter if I use IE or Firefox it gives me a
Anyone know why the mod uploader is not working on this site? Just wondering...tried to use it and got some kind of script error or something...
Thanks for the discussion guys...keep it coming, let's hope that Stardock are reading this... I'd prefer not to have to use a mod to make the kind of ships that I'd like to...(though thanks to Kryo for making such a cool mod!). Half the fun for me is knowing that I can use it in a normal game and that other people can make a ship too just like I did.
Hail Mighty Stardock employees and my fellow Galactic Citizens. I hope I don't step on any toes here but I'd like to make some suggestions for the ship designer portion of the game (which is awesome already but I'd like to see a few things added or tweaked) and just wanted to suggest them to the devs: 1. I'd like the ability to move the hardpoints on the hull and pieces if possible (if there's a way to do this and I'm stupi
Hitodama, I really, REALLY enjoyed your ship designs, just to let you know! Your work is in my top 10 favorite original designs. Keep 'em coming. What was your inspiration for making these? Thank you for the kind words about my Firefly. Making the back end was really tough and I'm still not entirely pleased with it. Though I was able to implement some really specific and accurate pieces on the ship. The two red lights on antennae on
Norin, I've submitted a thread showcasing this ship. Also, in the next 2 weeks, look for Alliance ships (Dortmunder) and several Reaver ships. I'm very careful to specifically follow my reference photos for each of these ships, down to tiny details, where possible. I could go so far as to use a paint program to tweak colors and such but I prefer to only show you what you can make using the ship designer otherwise it'd be misleading. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glowing from the pr
Yes!! Thank you for the very GREAT compliment. I'll be posting a model of the Dortmunder later this week, keep an eye out on this thread for it. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it. It was tricky to make!
Crap, that's right...the new patch will let me affix logos to the ships? (Did not know this...doh!) I'll have an Alliance Cruiser (probably the Dortmunder since it's cool -looking) up within a week, maybe sooner. Thank you very much for your kind words, it was actually really challenging, especially the back of the ship. I'm still not entirely pleased with it but it's as close as I think I can get for now. The Dortmunder will
Sneaky bump..
anoldman, Wouldn't mine fall under accurate too? I worked from several photos to match top, side, and front profiles very carefully. It's from the TV show, "Firefly", I didn't make it up... Thanks for the kind words either way. I hope some other Firefly fans will come in here and comment, I was very excited about this ship.
PS. It's at the bottom of the page, I believe...tried to edit my original post but I'm not sure if it worked or not, so I'm adding this message to my thread just in case....
Hey Browncoats out there (you know who you are), I just wanted to send you over to the thread where you can showcase your cool ship designs Link because I just completed my Firefly -class Freighter, 'Serenity' and would love to get your feedback on it. It's at the bottom of the page, last I checked. Thanks guys!
Well, hopefully someone will see this and comment on whether or not they like it. Took a LOT of time when I should have been sleeping to get ready for work tomorrow! LOL I frikkin' LOVE the ship designer! This is the Serenity, a Firefly-class freighter from the amazing TV show, "Firefly" by Joss Whedon. <br/
It was a real coup to have the StarForce thing happen, talk about LOADS of great free press, plus since everyone literally LOATHES StarFarce..er StarForce, they couldn't help but want to be on your side which in turn led them to discovering this great game that you guys have made. I think the most important thing to examine when looking at distributi
Browncoat here...why you ask?
I've had no problems with GalCiv 2 up until I installed the 1.1 beta upon which point I suddenly was afflicted with the wildly spinning planet and ship issue along with a map dragging wildly issue also. I did some research so as not to bog down the devs with a problem that maybe I could fix or figure out myself. Well after some research, I found the thread about dual-core issues. My problem is that the game did not showcase the (supposedl
Well hopefully this isn't going to get overlooked in the eight zillion posts in here but here are the two issues that I noticed with the game after installing the 1.1 beta patch (and yes, I have the latest drivers and all that): 1. Ship pictures and planet pictures rotating at wildly amazing speeds with no way to stop it from happening. 2. If you bring your mouse cursor down to below the bottom edge of the UI the screen totally s
