Could very well be a problem with your videocard drivers. Do you have an nVidia card and are you using Vista? If so, check your videocard drivers. With the standard nVidia Vista drivers the turnbutton disappears and the game gets stuck. Check out this thread it's all there: https://forums.galciv2.com/142721

No idea, let's see here!
Congrats guys and gals! A very well deserved reward for all the labour of love you put into the game. I think the Gamespy editors hit the nail right on the head in their explanation to why GalCiv II: DA is ranked in fourth place. I'm sure TotA will be a contender for the 2008 xpack of the year rewards! :)
Wow, I knew the Terrans would win the fight, but still is was a really exciting read till the very last line. Can't be said enough, keep it op Namus!
Remarkable improvements once again. And the way you write these things makes me even more enthusiastic. ;) Great update on the diplomacy screen! Finally I know what I'm trading without having to look everything up. :CONGRAT: Now if the number of research points could be added to that (like the beakers in Civ) that would be perfection!
And I can imagine why you like Gamespy so much after reading the article! Anyways, great read and I hope TOtA gets lots of coverage elsewhere too the upcoming monhts, cause it certainly deserves it.
Very well played and thanks for the detailed writeup!
Let the wars begin!
Wow, nice surprise. Just when I got home from work!
Lovely read, great writing. I only just stumbled upon your AAR but it's great, keep up the good work!
I don't like the new ship textures, they look overdone and very cheesy. The old ones were better in my view, more realistic looking.
I completely disagree. The new shiptextures look great. Incredibly detailed and a huge step compared to the old ones!
Great! Right before the weekend. Sunday is set to become TA beta2 day then!
Like almost everybody else I'd go for January.
Played a couple beta games now. What I notice is that I can trade for those unique technologies. Is that supposed to happen that way? For example, playing the humans, I traded with the Arceans the technology that allows Navigation centers. So now I can build them myself on any of my worlds. This to me kind of waters down the uniqueness of the tech trees in that I can aquire these technologies myself thru trade. I dunno. It does do that, a bit... bu
I just can't get excited about techs or planetary improvements. We could have had a improved ground combat mini game with tanks, mechs,et.We could have had a UP with actual player involvement.I will keep following it but it doesn't come close to DA features as this time.
Really? I think it adds a great deal of involvement to the game. Having played two games in the first beta now, I really AM excited about the new racial. It adds to the feel of the races and sucks me into
Wow that looks impressive Boogiebac. A big improvement in two ways. My workday (The Netherlands) is almost done, so looking forward to this evening. Gonna be a short night.
Looking forward to that gameplay example. That soothes the waiting a bit.
It's from February. Link to earlier forum post
I agree that it's a very nice and detailed review, but it has been up for ages.
I like it that trading with the AI is now much harder than before. Sometimes the AI just isn't willing to trade something with the player, which is good IMHO. But it would be much easier if that would show before the negotiations. Just like in CIV4 those techs are marked red so that you know that the AI isn't willing to trade the tech because it 'doesn't like you enough' or it 'thinks you'll become a threat to them when they trade away tech x'. That would make much more sense and it wou
I completely agree with Lenius here. Those aren't really new features but things in the game that could surely use the improvement.
Doh! That is really weird though as I installed them and checked the version number. Must have rolled them back or something. Still getting to grips with stupid Vista. Sorry for the message.

Yippie! This sure is the one, DA works on my laptop too now with a GeForce7300 GO. BTW says in the releasenotes that this problem was fixed, so these are definitely the right drivers.
Yep I noticed. Sadly Nvidia doesn't support laptopcards directly so I have to get my downloads from laptopvideo2go.com. They mod the .inf files so you can use the normal drivers for your laptop. Oh well, let's hope it's in the next official release then and let's hope they bring it out quickly.
