Good question ... Also, does anyone know where I can lay my hands on the original MOO2 music? Dano
Dano13
LOL ... Selling out IS kind of a problem, but it IS a nice problem to have, wouldn't you say Brad? Dano
Yep .... never seen it either, even when I had total espionage domination. Furthermore, why exactly would you need espionage to determine if two races are at war or at peace? Its not exactly a secret Dano
All I am saying is that unlike other resources, if you drop a fleet on a fully developed military resource it CAN'T be taken out Dano
Hey, I love it when I find them, but I think they are a bit over powered. A fully developed resource can triple or quadruple the attack rates of a ship. Thus, if you drop a quadrupled-power fleet on the resource as a guard, you are pretty much guaranteed you will never lose it, so the resource in a sense provides its own defence, unlike other resources. Besides, imagine the frustration if you are going toe to toe with a race, and suddenly his ships are all quadrupled in power, AND y
Just wanted to mention how much I like the cutscenes - I have seen the cultural victory screen. I won't spoil anything but its a hoot! Dano
Anyone know? We have a thread for easy fixes, and a thread for glitches. Where should we put everything else? Dano
I second the rally point scroll bar not working. You CAN still scroll using the middle mouse wheel though, but its still kind of annoying. The ship finding utility doesn't seem to work. When you double click on a ship the game just blinks at you. On Planet Improvements the buy button is not available, you need to click on something and then click on something else in order for it to enable. Scouts are sometimes forgetting their extended sensor ranges ... i.e.
As for IGN and MOO3 I believe that they re-reviewed the game (I think) once it was determined that there really wasn't anything under the intimidating complexity of the interface. Dano
Some of the reviews seem do seem a bit harsh, but at least they all acknowledge the brilliance of the game's AI. One of your early fears was that this wouldn't be the case because they were playing on easy levels. Dano
1) Psionic missles and Psyonic Missles different spellings in tech tree. 2) Sometimes the graph on the main interface (the one that shows when you click empty space) corrupts and becomes a mish mash of broken lines. Gradually restores itself though as time moves on. Can't repeat this bug on demand. I always play on gigantic universes though. The mini-map did the same thing once in a late, gigantic game. But haven't seen it since the Mar 6 patch. Reloading the saved game seemed
Yeah ... I was the original poster that posted that. I saw it happen once (unintentionally) and was giddy with my new dirty trick. I have tried it about a dozen times after that and either the ships a) Just sit there, or b) move off somewhere else. This is kind of a drag, but on the other hand, unless the AI is clever enough to do the same to you, it WOULD be kind of an exploit. Dano
Thanks for the info ... I will try these ideas out! Dano
Ah ... okay, I will check the weapon tree. Thanks for the info! Dano
Here is a question: Will a bizillion economy structures on a planet all provide their bonuses even if there is only a token population for it? The above is true for production, I was wondering if the same is true for economy structures - cause, my economy sucks in the game I am playing. Dan
I read somewhere that there are evil weapons that only evil civs can use. I am currently researching the tech after good and evil (can't remember what it is called), but it only shows evil structures? Does anyone know where I can find these horrible, effective weapons? Dano
You read it here first folks! http://www.gameplaymonthly.com/interviews/galciv2.php
Well I can't believe this has been posted yet ... but are the developers allowed to tell us what ideas they are kicking around for this expansion? Just being curious and greedy ... Dano
Ye Gods Stardock! Don't you guys ever sleep? Dano
Or maybe take some country songs like Civ 4! I fooled ya! I fooled ya! I got Doom beams! I got Doom Beams ... I got ALL Doom Beams! Dano
LOL ... true enough. Of course I think the randomness that people want is so that they don't KNOW who the alien races will be ... Dano
Confirmed ... I had MASSIVE espionage on the major races, and I never heard about war, only peace
Awesome! Thanks for the laugh! Dano
8.5 is way too good for Rome Total War. That was a beautiful game that was utterly reduced to mediocraty by weepingly bad campaign AI and non existent diplomacy. Maybe Galactic Civilizations 1 spoiled me. Dano
Good idea ... but clicking on 5 ships to 'mark' them somehow is just faster than renaming each of them. I'll give it a try though, thanks! Dano
