Uh, how about multiplayer? Interest in the game doesn't last long after figuring out the AI weaknesses.

Aye, it'd be great if there's some better detail in the foreign screen, possibly color coded -- blue for shared techs, red for what they have that I don't, and green for what I have that they don't.
My Noncombat ships have a 3-character name, with combat vessels having an extra 2 characters indicating loadout category. Hull | Role | Agility | [Offense | Defense] | - Generation Hull Class ( ABCDFG ): Auxiliary (cargo) Battleship (huge) Cruiser (large) Destroyer (medium) Frigate (small) Gunboat (tiny) Role ( ABCEFST ): Attack Builder (constructor) Colonizer Explorer (range/sensors prioritized) Frei
I bought the game expecting, eventually, multiplayer would be added, like what every. other. turn-based strategy game had. I knew GC1 didn't have it, but, honestly, that game was fairly ghetto in a few areas but spectacular in others (beyond MOO3 as far as I was concerned). It would be lose-lose for Stardock if they spent resources on multiplayer and tried to sell it as a single-feature expansion to appease the rabid anti-MP crowd, from a simple economic and marketing point of view. Yes on multiplayer. This community is rather insular and I'm not surprised internal polling didn't turn up big pro-multiplayer figures, particularly after the devs relished pooping all over the idea ("Well, if we implemented multiplayer, we wouldn't be able to program game saving/loading!", or whatever the nonsense was). Don't know how many others who were very interested in multiplayer have stuck around with the community after all this time. I know I almost never post or play anymore
I also feel that they're rarely worth the space that other improvements could use. I'd love for them to be upgrades to the Starport tile. Expensive upgrades maybe, and/or preclude the port's use for making more ships while the upgrade is in progress.
(edited) never mind!
Are those three small ship icons (show all) (show equipment) (show jewelry) ? If so, Excellent. If not, a way to filter out jewelry from the mod listing would be neat.
All I know is that the Torians have erected no less than six - SIX - influence starbases inside my sphere-of-influence, all within a half-dozen tiles of my Technology capital. They're an ally. I'd go to war with them just to get rid of the station spam, but they're my #1 trading partner and I'd rather not take a 500bc/turn hit.
I had a similar issue -- I would get an error about my serial number when I tried updating my multimedia from the Beta versions in Stardock (even though GalCiv II updated to retail just fine). I merely uninstalled the multimedia files from the Stardock menu, and re-downloaded them. Uninstall your extra folders, get rid of whatever archives you made of them, and re-download from scratch.
