I stay on the water kayaking or boating during the day, play games at night or when the weather is bad. Sometimes fly rc planes on nice days too.

@midnightrunner - LOVE YOUR SHIPS and the names and descriptions are equally as good!
[quote who="Piznit" reply="1" id="1987026"] Where to start with that. How bout that entire statement might be the "more retarded" than naming your kid Hitler. The comparisons stated there aren't even close to being related. For one, Obama wasn't named after a homicidal maniac...most likely they didnt even know who Saddam WAS when they named him. And what kind of crazy thinking is it when you start replacing letters in names to prove your point. Do
I find the name "Barrack Hussein Obama" a problem and he is the president of the USA. If he can be the president with that name then why can't someone name their child Adolf Hitler? Saddam "Hussein" had killed thousands of people, he was a modern day hitler. Osama Bin Laden... replace the "s" with a "b" in Osama and you have Obama. Shows how stupid people in USA can be to vote that through to president then complain about a kid named Adolf Hitler. WAKE UP AMERICA before it
Nothing to brag about but here are a few old and extremely simple designs I made a while back even before ToA. For some reason I like them even though they only took a few minutes to put together. They are as cheap as they look  I have a thing for aft super structures on larger ships, as you can see. [quote]Greetings! The better part of my "surfing time" over the past 10 days has been spent doing a lot of research on GalCiv II. As a self-proclaimed hardcore TBS gamer going back to the days of "Empire" on the PC and "M.U.L.E." on my Atari 800 (which still runs, thank you very much), GalCiv II has been somewhere on my radar ever since I started hearing about it and the awards it's garnered over the past couple of years. Later tonight, I am finally going to take the plunge, trust these guys with
I just picked this game up from best buy today. Let me say, guys you have a huge winner here. This game is as good as civ4 and galciv2. It really is! Excuse my language but damn this game is good! No doubt, no doubt this one is going to win reviewers hands over fists. :CONGRAT:

Off the charts! Totally off the charts at a whopping 110%! Just downright, hands down, freaking awesome!!! I practically passed out when I seen that example of the immense size galaxy. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
[quote]I know this has been talked about in the past, and i really should have thought to bring it up again sooner, as the new expansion is probably already set in stone by this point. BUT, i would LOVE to see a "laboratory" module introduced as a ship component. Im tired of ships only being good for war! The only other use for ships right now is as surveyors. and you can only have so many of them. What i propose is this: 1. A module that would produce a set amount of research points ev
The only 2 truely excellent games up there are SupCom and GalCiv2. World in Conflict? Give me a break on that one. C&C3? No thanks. The others, I won't even bother. I really like SupCom but GalCiv2 is far more superior. SupCom just gets too ridiculous, I mean units EVERYWHERE and you can't manage any of them. Online multiplayer is even worse, units everywhere! Way too overwhelming and stressful. Just too much going on and too fast to manage it all. I do like the game but man it nearly drives me
One word... just one word... AWESOME! :CONGRAT:
You know what people? I don't even know what to say anymore. Awesome, fabulous, fantastic? The question "what is the best space strategy game ever?" has now clearly been answered.
With most companies, I would say definitely wait. With SD and how they have been supporting the best space strategy game ever, I actually think they can release it in december. You can bet if the game is released in december, they will follow up with a strong patch anyway. I am going to vote december because I think SD can pull it off. If this was a full blown sequel I would say wait but GalCiv2 is already a solid proven game. So any patches for ToA will probably be just balancing patches and/or
This is really going to take GalCiv2 to the next level yet again
Awesome patch I must say! I love the idea of anomalies respawning, sounds like this is going to make it a good idea to build more survey ships.
I noticed the terrain squares on the planets are still inaccurate. For example, a square that is clearly not swamp will show as swamp and the ones which are swamp show as prairie. There are more that are off but this is just an example above. I wonder if 1.7 will address this? Seems a little problem that has been around the last few patches.
Terran Fleet Pack has been uploaded to the library and is pending approval. The Terran Fleet ... --- Enjoy Edit: The Terran Fleet Pack is now available for download: <A href="htt
Oh no wonder the file is gone, the original post is over a year old Does this mean no one ever found another one?
None of the images or links work for me, none of them has the file been removed or something? I have seen a class 118 before, yes 118 and I did not mistype that and I still have a screenshot. Ummm wait... my dog ate that screenshot <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 align="a
Leasing? That is just a great idea! I never thought about that in a game and I don't think I have ever seen that. Maybe another good thing to add to this and it may just work very well would be a market for ships. In other words you can place a new or used ship up for sale on this market and an AI could buy it. You can set the price you want to sell it for and maybe if you have a high dilomacy skill it will be more likely you can sell it for alot more. Much like trading, how you can get better d
You guys at Stardock just amaze me at the support you all provide for GalCiv2. This has been the case from the very beginning and I think it all sets a fine example of what makes a developer successful. I am not talking just patches but the big picture, the whole thing. Reminds me a little of the direction Blizzard started going in after their Warcraft series about 13 years ago. This said, I am forever sold on the GalCiv series, I can see this becoming what CIV became. A strategy title everyone
Honestly my two favorite RTS's of the last several years are Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and Rise of Nations: Throne and Patriots. I've been playing RoN on and off since the release of the original game 4 years ago, which easily makes it the RTS with the best legs in my gaming history (and I've played most major releases in the genre back to Herzog Zwei, which invented it). I'm big into single player, though. If you're after a good MP game specifically I wouldn't be able
I wonder will this download fix the buildable squares on the planets so they match the terrain they are actually on?
