I've noticed that the Guard command seems to be no different from the Sentry command in beta 3. I've set a fleet of ships to guard my starbases but every turn that another ship comes within a certain range I have to reissue a guard order. Also, on at least one occasion when my starbase was attacked it sacrificed itself to save the guarding ships from taking any damage. What is the purpose of a guard order if not to have the ships defend the base at

Yea. I didn't see it earlier either. I'm not using any mods so that is not it. I've noticed a few more things since though. I captured one planet that the Altarians had for quite a long time. It had one manufacturing center, one starport, and five farms. The one thing the planet didn't have, even with all of those farms, was population. I took it easily with one transport using 1000 troops. When I went to upgrade the farms to somethin

I just downloaded the latest update to GalCiv 2 and started a new game. I am playing as the Terrains at normal level. As the game progressed the Altarians declared war on me. I have taken several of their planets and found that they often have several starports. Usually all but one are being converted into something else. In one case I just let the planet continue the way it was. What happens now is that the planet list shows the planet as not ha

Maybe population migration for good societies, Soilent Green for evil societies. Neutral societies could just pop them off the way it does now.

I don't know if this is a bug or a suggestion. I notice that if I put too many farms on a planet and the population gets too high that the moral on that planet bottoms out. However, if I remove a farm so my food production can't support such a large population then the very next turn my planet is down to a manageable population and everyone is happy again. Doesn't anyone wonder where all those people went? Don't they care? Maybe if I were running

When I get to the end of a turn and I have ships that still have movement points (not in orbit obviously) I see that the 'Turn' button has not changed but I don't know how to get to them. Is there an easy way?

I really like when the green planet icons come up to show me when a planet has finished producing social projects. Would it be possible to have the map focus switch to that planet's location when you click on that icon? Also, when I am building up my empire I may notice that, for example, my funds are getting low. Would it be possible to have a button that moves all projects of one type to the top of the list? This might be useful gala

I'm sorry if any of these have been reported before. There is so much traffic on this board that I didn't have time to get cought up. Anyway, here are a few itmes I've noticed. #1) When I recieve a message that a planet has completed a project that opens up new land I usually use the 'Go To' button to add the building that I want. However if, on the same turn, a world decides to defect from their previous owner to my side then I get the

When map centers on a ship that has moved to autopilot destination and I scroll to see other areas, the ships are often not facing the direction that they are moving. Once they move their facing corrects itself. Also, autoscrolling when moving the cursor to the edge of the screen seems to work only intermittently.

Foreign Policy Screen: Relations: Speak To button does not work Report: Forward button (next to Speak To button) does not work but back button does work Quarterly Report: At game startup, scrolling up and down does not work.

From BoogieBac: News Icons: Those are still in the game, they've just been moved to the right side of the screen. This mechanic still has some tweaking to be done, but I don't see any reason we can't have an option to turn it off if people get too anoyed by it. I seem to be getting only the icons for ship construction and research. No facility construction icons are showing up. I thought this was a change to the game but from what I've gathered from

Do starports have different build rates or is there just one build rate? If there are different rates then it would be good to see some indication of the buid rate displayed. With shipyards, I find that I usually access them to design a new ship just prior to building that ship or those ships. I access the shipyard through the starport screen but when I am done with my designs I find myself back on the main map, not back at the starports. If I am designin

I am running SmartException but I guess I may not be all that smart. When I click on it in the system tray to open it I get the main screen with Submit Exception Report, Open Log Directory and all the other buttons. However, I can't seem to get it to do anything. My Stardock account shows that I have the latest version. Open Log Directory opens an explorer window to C:\, Delete exception log seems to work as does Delete all logs, but no other button seems to do a

I played a game for a few turns, designed a few ships, then Retired. I started a new game using the same race. All of my previous game's ship designs were available in the new game. I didn't check to see if advanced techs were available as I had played very few turns in the previous game.

Just a couple of things that I noticed right off. When I build a custom race my ships are not lighted so all I see is black silhouettes. They are very difficult to spot on the stellar map and, of course, all the cool effects are totally missing. In the spaceport screen I see whatever ship I am looking at currently but I do not see what ship my spaceport is building. It would be helpful if there were some area that always showed the current build order.

I had saved a game after playing several turns. I exited the game, rebooted my system, started the game and loaded my save game. I got through the research and build screens at startup. I then selected the menu and selected Retire and crashed to desktop. Things are looking better and the game is becomming much more stable. I have noticed a few things I wanted to mention though. Saving - When I save a game to an existing slot I do not see the 'Replace' dialog until I back out of the save screen then back out of the menu to the game itself. Then I see the dialog asking if I want to overwrite my existing save. Also, I have to hit 'Yes' twice for it to actually save. Lastly, on my system at least, the selec

I noticed that when I try to save a game the dialog for overwriting an existing save is not visible until I back out of save and the menu all the way back to the game. Then the dialog asking if I want to overwrite an existing save game is there. When I first colonize a planet I would like to have an option of going to that planet to set my build queue. Maybe another button on the dialog that allows me to set it's name. When I am building facilitie

I just wanted to comment on the Colony screen. When I am adding facilities I always have to click which one I want to build and then click Build. Could the last facility I selected remain highlighted. It would save time when building a research planet or a factory planet. Also, on the Starport screen, once I select a ship to build there is no way of knowing that the ship is building until I go back to another screen and see how much time is remaining for the buil
