o prefer a brighter look when viewed from afar (so that I can make out the details) and a darker view from near (because of the realism). Not sure if that makes sense though ...

certain weapons are harder to use, these could be used strategically and tactically. But as I said, the AI will have to understand that. This is the most difficult part.

Just some thoughts about non-linear campaigns - long post (sorry) but one or two ideas at the end might be interesting. While it's great to continue on an alternative path after you lost a scenario, I noticed (from games that gave me that opportunity) that there's still a strong incentive *not* to explore the alternate paths, but to replay and win the scenario instead ... every time. There were games where I did that, never exploring the alternative routes.<

t's fully defended" any more. Note that you have to "type" your starbase even before you can add any defense to it, so the AI has the possibility to react fast.
