Sounds a little like the Foundation stories by Isaac Asimov, Darktalon. Anyways, you should probably destroy those colonies.

I think Pherguson has a nice idea about claiming a planet's airspace. It's more realistic, it fixes the exploit, and it gives greater strategic opportunities.

Technician, you can install the latest drivers straight from Nvidia's site and it will work fine. You don't need the Dell branded drivers.

I played a "tough" game that showed up in-game as cakewalk. It's reported correctly on the website.

I like talon012754's moral event ideas. They could add more diversity and humor to the game if done right. Maybe someone could throw together a mod?

Ugrok, play on the "Tough" level (the fair one) before commenting on the AI. Safari Joe, that's like saying that all you have to do to win is win (have a big emp with strong economy). That's kind of obvious.

There is a UP resolution that permanently adds trade routes to every civilization. In addition to what was said above, you can also start out with civ traits to add up to 3 trade routes.

LDiCesare , in a game you have to be able to quickly see and change any value when you're tweaking it for playability. In that sense a game isn't as well defined as a normal app, so you have different needs when you code.

I think it may be worth adding the ability to mod this at some point, but I agree that it's not worth doing it yourselves. Are you still planning to have a year of free support, or are you going to go straight into other projects/expansions? If you do have the year of support, maybe you can add that ability after release.

triple post! But yeah, it's a good idea as long as it doesn't become annoying. Ideally people wouldn't want to turn it off once they become familiar with how things work.

I have very similar specs to yours (only 1 gig ram, crappy audio,pci-e 6800gt) and the game runs perfectly smoothly on my computer. I'd be inclined to say it's an AGP bandwidth or memory problem of some sort. Also, this doesn't excuse EA, but you can delete the startup movies manually and it skips them fine.
