Do you really need your gaming setup to be mobile? You could upgrade your desktop for way less than the cost of one of those laptops and it can always be upgraded again. Laptops just stay as is unless you can reliably tinker with them. I mean I'm looking to fork out no more than £350 ($550) for a mobo bundle to update my 3 year old machine. If you keep your HDD, power supply and that then it's just so much more cheaper plus it's all reusable (to a point). Way easier

Also keeping an eye on this, keep updating!
Just go on joeuser.com and upload it there, that's what I did. There's solutions around if you search for them. ;P
I downloaded Croc's 'navy-style' ships a wee while back and have loved them ever since. I decided to try and design my own navy-esque ships and came up with the following so far: TYPE 34 FRIGATE TYPE 42 - DESTROYER <
Weird, it didn't have a custommaps folder. I went ahead and created it anyway and the map showed up. Thanks for replying. EDIT: Oh also, is it possile to add minor races in custom maps?
Thanks for the referral real helpful. I've searched everywhere and everybody say the same thing: put the map in the custom map folder in my games. It isn't working. I'd apprecaite a reply.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I created an immense map complete with stars, planets and all race homeworlds defined. I've named it, written a description and placed it in the custom map folder in my games. Despite all this it doesn't show up in the list of cutom maps in game. Where am I going wrong? Also, is it possible to define homeworlds for minor races? Sorry id this has been asked before but the search engine was not very helpful.
I've tried compressing the design to as fwe pieces as possible whilst keeping the general shape but as soon as I reach the 7 row limit again I get the same problem. I understand now that this is a limitation not a bug, but I want to find a way psat it. Is there any way of expanding the pieces limit? I mean my computer handles the design as it is anyway.
Each row is 25 pieces and the design above has 176. Shame, I'll have to neuter it.
I think I might have somehow overloaded the ship designer but I'm not sure if I really have or it's just a bug. Basically I designed a ship from a blank huge hull and it ended up with seven rows of components. Yes I have too much time on my hands. Not the best design I've done, this is what it looks like without any modules: http://img24.imageshack.us/i/85805637.png/ <a href="http://img96.imageshack.us/i/o
