thanks all. So, the SUPER RACE event, is that a mega event? Maybe I can turn that off. I don't maind the smaller event, the minor super race event. True, that one is not so noticable. I hate those damn Rangers fully. THey ruin the game.

I'm very very new at modding. Basically, I hate the way they made Galactic Civ 2........ I hate the race balance, I hate those stupid "free luck find" pirate ships that can easily win the entire game, that you can get by chance, or your enemies (whom don't know how to use them). I hate that event that allows one civ to become a super growing civ. Offbalances the entire game. I hate starbases that don't feel like starbases and I hate how the en

I would had DEFINATLY definatly definatly, payed for this game, IF it had more than 3 races to choose from. This game seems great in almost every single avanue I like, aside from more variety in races. I like feeling like the galaxy is inhabited by more than a few different types of cultures. SOmething just feels low budget about this game only being able to provide 3 races. I'm passing this game up, but it was a very very close buy.

I'm playing TA. Granted the AI is better, but not good enough. In TA, my outposts/starbases are supreme. I generally upgrade them halfway to max. I tend to focus my research on starbase power early on. I don't even have to throw all the weapon on them, I just give them a few type 2 wepons. I don't even have to give them shields. I cn easily destroy 6 light cruisers at evey wave they throw at me, per turn. I take some damage, but it gets mo

Yes I fully agree with all the above. These are the main issues of GalCiv2 that really do almost break the game and make it pointless to play. Well, for those of us that think strategy is important in game. lol. I think I'll take a break from GalCiv2 until a patch corrects this. I'm actually surprised it's been o long since they've not fixed this. They say, NO GalCiv3, because they want to concintrate more on GalCiv2.... but I don't really see t

Ok. So I've been playing this game for a good while now. I've played every race, won with half of them. I play on the difficulty "Bright", usually. I've played on Challanging and Tough before though, but they are a bit too easy for me. I've never played anything over Bright difficulty. I was wondering if anyone of me fellow Gal Gamers can tell me some of the main differences between difficulty levels? Does the AI actually get smarter? or i

I keep turning OFF the Mega Events because I HATE HATE HATE that big event from the precursers that forces a race to gain 1% in every ability per turn, making them a steady fast super mega power. It completly ruins my games and turns me off playing the game entirly. In my oppinion this is the worse part of the game, that 1 random event. I think it may be a bug that I can't seem to disable that event by turning off Mega Events. Once I start the game, it's like the meg

is there a way to mod it out? I hate those mega events the 1% a turn fast one. It completely destroys my game enjoyment factor. Infact I've been almost completely turned off from playing GalCiv2 due to that one random event that happens every game. It severly unbalances the game and takes away the "rise of the ladder" effect of my journey. Also, the AI don't seem to understand the ramnifications of that mega event. They don't bother the ult

This is probibly the newbiest of noob Q's, but I can't seem to find anyhelp anywhere else. I'm new to the game abviously. I've built some Influencial Starbases in my game, and they seem to have empty modules. It says I get a max of 5. I can't seem to find anyway to put any modules onto my made starbases. I don't even know how to add wepons to my starbases. I also can't find any templates for starbases. Am I doing something wrong with how I'm making

Hey. I'm a bit new to GalCiv. I'm playing on the largest map there is in the game. I'm playing on "Challanging". I can pretty much keep up with the AI in all areas aside from the very start up in the game where it comes to colonization. My problem is, that I notice half of the AI Civs colonize about 10-15 planets in the first 200 turns of the game, where I only tend to have 4. I feel intimidated right from the get go... however accoring to stats and spy

OP quote "We know how to make multiplayer games. We had the budget to make GalCiv II a multiplayer game if we wanted. We like multiplayer games. But we felt that GalCiv II would be a better game if multiplayer was not part of the base game. " thats not true, your chief stated he hates MP because he can never get a game to continue. He was speaking in terms of being on an official server playing the game. This can be very true. That is why you best
I agree multiplayer would ruin the experiance I probably wouldn't even bother with multiplayer unless I was bored.
are you kidding me dude? lol try making at least 1 friend.... omg, i'm sure it will be just fine and you might actually have tons of fun. for you losers out there whom can't even make 1 friend to play online with.... omg, I understand why you believe MP is no fun and can't

quote from the OP "My favorite game of 2005 was Civilization IV. It has multiplayer in it that is as good if not better than any implementation in the history of turn-based games. But what was sacrificed in exchange? There's no campaign. There's no in-depth scenarios. No in-depth random events. You can only trade certain items and techs back and forth no matter what. Do you think this is a coincidence? No random civil wars based
