This game has lasted years on my machines. I have paid as much for prettier games that didnt last a month on my machine. Especially irritating if Ifind a killer walk-thru is posted somewhere right after I buy the game. Dom3 has been out for years and the forums are still arguing strongest/weakest, tactics, etc. And no cheats, no backdoors. Dom3 had 63 nations (now 72 in the patched game). Unique nations with unique abilities and unique units. Not just same army wearing differe

Are there any Scenario or Campaign writers out there? This game has scenario commands. But the previous Illwinter game was mostly just modding commands. So the player base is a lot of modders, and not much for writing scenarios or campaigns. I would REALLY like to see more downloadable solo-play stuff with creative quests and worldwide events available.

Yes the focus is flip-flopped on CoE3. MP is possible but in Dom3 choices were made for MP over Solo, and in CoE3 some obvious choices were made favoring Solo over MP. And the AI is excellent. In Dom3 there was one general AI trying to play all of those very unique nations. In CoE3 each nation has its own AI and plays the nation specifically to its strengths and weaknesses. I dont agree that it "fixes" or "balances" the game (actually neither do its developers anymore). On the one hand its simple to switch servers. Its done all the time. the server just zips up the entire game directory and sends it in an email. Its usually not very big. Interesting. The points made are right on BUT... Ive played Dom3 for years and play almost entirely SP. Not in vanilla mode anymore but with maps and mods and 3rd party programs designed to making the AI better. Not fantastic of course but then for someone that likes SP I dont think any game is. MP will always provide more of a challenge. If the SP is rated against MP then Id agree, but if its SP against other SP games then personally I still consider Dom3 to provide enough to bring the price

Caelums "balancing" factors (such as flight) work best on large maps or bigger. I think they get alot more solo play than mp play. Altho they can be a surprise.
