I am using Ultimate Edition and I have never played any Galactic Civ before this. It is really awesome but... the scout ships that are available for building right away. So useless. Slower than my granny with her walker and cannot even survey! custom settings for a new game like number of habital planets, etc. The game seems to ignore these and does what ever the heck it wants. Does the hi-res mod work with Ultimate Edition? Where can I find it, none of the links work anymore. Thanks
On the planetary tiles that have bonuses (like 100% manufacturing bonu)s, is it better to build a factory on that tile or build something that gives you more of a percentage bonus, like the anti-matter thing that gives you an additonal 25% bonus, but does not actually add manufacturing to your output?
BTW the walktroughs I have read for GC2 talk about 5000bc to start. I wish it was 5000, that must have been tweaked at some point down to 3000. It would be nice to be able to select how much stating money you and each race has. This game is excellent yet I wish for more control in setting up a custom game. It looks like I am not the only one, cept I want more and he wants less bc!

Thanks. Yea I just saw it was the last version discussed in the Developers Forum.

It will, as a practical matter, make piracy virtually impossible.[/quote] This isn't real clear to me. What are p
I have Galactic Civ II Ultimate (store bought), at the main menu it says it's version 2.02. Is that the latest version? I am having some minor glitches and I want to make sure I have the latest version.
You can enable cheats by creating a shortcut to GalCiv2.exe and use that to start the game. <li class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 10pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso
