In other sad news, Kari is taking leave of Stardock to tend to her growing family. Apparently, she had a good amount of input on GalCivII, so she will be missed in any future iterations of Galactic Civilizations. The other night I was trying to remember which computer space battle game it was that had fighters, which I had played around for a bit (demo version). Turns out that was: Gratuitous Space Battles <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gratuitous_Sp

I was just dropping by to post about this, but you Stardock guys are on the ball, having already posted this thread. I already have a copy of Galactic Civilizations I that I picked up at a store a while back, but it's good to see you guys on GOG. Good Old Games is a great place to look for old games! Now if we can just get LH on GOG when it is released, or older versions of Political Machine... www.gog.com

The new and improved digital stuff really didn't do much for me. Return Of The Jedi was already pretty over the top on the visual department. Episodes 1 & 2 were mediocre, I'm not getting the 2+ hours of my life back that I wasted watching Episode III... My response to your dislike.<br /

While I wait for a good moment to jump back into Elemental (waiting for the flurry of patches to trickle down, then I can get back to modding when I have some fre time), I hopped back into some GalCivII: Twilight Of The Arnor. I had not done the campaign yet, so I am doing so now. So far, I think that the Dread Lords campaign was more compelling to me (mostly because of those 'artifact' ships you get to cruise around in). Also grabbed a new copy of Renegade: Battle

Planescape Torment. Well written storyline. A little less 'linear' at times might have been nice, but thanks to some home grown mods/fixes (h ttp://www.shsforums.net/forum/551-planescape-torment-mods/ ), I've replayed it several times recently. I love the party and NPC interaction! Chris Avellone and the guys really outdid themselves with this one. Alpha Centauri. So sad t

The bigger achievement with Watson was that they were able to design computer software that can understand context as well as the words involved. Watson isn't perfect with this yet (note that Montreal is apparently a US city according to Watson), but is leaps and bounds ahead of other speech recognition software. Imagine how much Google searches are going to benefit from having a 'Watson' on the other end. Instead of 'guessing' which catch words will bring up the informati

I also participate in another 'Trek' community, specifically the Starfleet Command guys. A general opinion there is that B&B were a negative influence things on all things Trek overall... Abrams isn't helping either. C'mon guys, using a beer factory for Engineering? Is THAT the best you can do? Back on topic, though. The Hollywood types who oversee licensing aren't the best guys for maintaining continuity, etc. they just like pretty products.<
