Hello everybody, I am planning to create a new mod, and one of the features that I'm planning to put in it is new techs on the tech tree. In particular, I am planning to put what is called "Superweapons" branch in the tech tree, in order to supplement the regular weapons. What are superweapons, you ask? Basically, it is a research option that allows you to build insanely powerful weapon systems for your military. Examples of subcatagories for superweapons resear

To be honest, the only real advantage that the ST universe has over the UNSC (NOT the Covenant) is that they have transporters, but this is a questionable advantage at best. Throughout the entire show, they only seem capable of transporting people, and they don't appear to be capable of much else, let alone transport a weapon that can do any damage at all to, say, the MAC orbital station. They also have very limited range; a MAC gun would shoot them down before the Enterprise could ge

Though I'd drop in and give some reliable data about the Star Trek weapons technology. First off, I wouldn't really trust the tech novels given for star trek because 1) they are contradictory 2)They aren't written by anybody with any education in science. "Isotons" is a completely made up unit and, given the way they are arbitrarily used, it is completely meaningless. This site: http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Tech/ gives perha

I guess I will add my opinions on the matter. First of all, I would like to say that both Sins of a Solar Empire and GalCiv II are among the best games I've ever played! Kudos for Stardock for creating such great games. So, here's what I think would make the game better: -Dynamic Map: Other than asteroids and the occasional anomaly, the map is basically just a passive background in which stuff happens. I think the map should be made a little more

Anyways, to continue this tragic tale..... Stardate 445694.3 President's Log It has now been a few weeks since the start of the second Borg conflict, and while some military officials believe that this may indeed be the final conflict between the Federation and the Borg, we must nonetheless resist them while we still can. The current situation, judging from my reports, is not good at all. The Borg have already increased in number, with fre

Yeah, I know it's been a few days, I've been preparing for finals here!
This sounds mad cool. Is there a way I could dl this off you, or is it just set up on your PC? Also, how much work does it take to set this sort of thing up? I'd love to build my own universe like this.
It's just set up on my pc, I really haven't had much time to work out all the kinks yet. As for

Stardate 445682.6 President's Log It had been a few days now since I have issued a state of emergency in the Federation. The Borg have already conquered a Romulan outpost just yesterday, and both Romulan and Federation outposts and starbases along the Neutral Zone have been attacked. In addition, we lost contact with Deep Space 4, no doubt that they have already been assimilated. All planets, outposts, and colonies along the Neutral Zone are now under a

Stardate 445678.5 President's Log Times have been very tough for the Federation lately. From the Klingon-Romulan War to the general social anxiety, they all have taken a toll. We are still trying to recover from the disaster that was the Battle of Wolf 359, while at the same time trying to covertly aid the Klingons against the onslaught of the Romulans. In addition, Starfleet intelligence has informed me that both Romulan and Ferangi spies have infiltrated some

Very Brief Backstory: As we all know, shortly after the disaster that was the Battle of Wolf 359, the Enterprise D was able to stop the Borg before they could assimilate Earth. According to the main story line, Starfleet was able to recover after 6 months, and apparently their main enemy (the Romulans) didn't really do anything. However, I will diverge from this main storyline and go into alternative history, since that is much more interesting. So, after the Battle of Wolf 35

So, I actually made up a campaign on the GalCiv Editor, and it is called Borg Apocalypse. As the title suggests, you are fighting against the Borg. You get to choose from 5 empires; the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, the Cardassians, or the Ferangi. And then there are a bunch of minor races (e.g. Vulcans, Breen confederacy, etc). While political alliances may shift from time to time, everybody is at war with the Borg.I might post the scenario for download later, after I work out the
