What I hate about steam is simple.. If my kids want to enjoy a steam game, I need to purchase additional copies for them. Given the price of most games, I will not do this, and it short changes the household. I don't know anyone with families that will purchase multiple copies of most games, so the developer simply loses out on revenue in EITHER case, so why not be family friendly in the first place? <br
More complexity! As in Distant Worlds for example...
DW is an incredibly good game.
I always turn off Ascension victory because I find having that time limit annoying.
1st- Chilly72 is obviously full of shit. 2nd-I personally believe that GC3 is the project that Jon Shafer is working on.
Does that mean it works on WIndows 8 tablets?
As far as I know, Brad hasn't even officially announced that he's working on it.
After reading Froboys post as a fan of Gal Civ I and II and their DA/TA expansions, I say if people want a multiplayer put your money where your mouth is and buy it as a expansion and not demand it to screw up GC 3.And considering how few people supposedly come on the forums why for the love thats all holy should stardock/Kalypso/whoever monkey about with the game we love because "some" people want to play online for 3-6 months till they get bore
Guys, I just want to throw in that I love Tolmekians AAR's and I just started reading this and it's looking amazing. I'm still on page 1, but awesome job! [e digicons][/e]

This is why I quick save often...if you re-load to before they appear, the event isn't usually repeated and you can play on.
I actually like the weeks measurement in GC2 better than other 4X games. It makes sense to me that it might take a civilization five weeks or so to build a ship. I just assume they have a large, advanced factory. In Elemental they changed it to "seasons", basically 4 turns is a year, and I feel like it cranks too fast through the years.
My package from Amazon just arrived in the post. I opened it to find it... didn't contain GC2. Oh no! However, upon closer inspection I found it contained something called "Space Unlimited Compilation" which includes GC2 as well as three other games. No idea why I was sent this, I didn't order it, but I can't complain. So now for less than a quarter of the price of the digital download for GC2 I have GC2
Thing is, though, right now we have no choice but to let the AI do it.
It's different now though, because there aren't any tactical battles. So the AI is much better at accurately calculating who would win just based on numbers. The combat we watch in GC2 is just cosmetic (which is fine by me).
another problem I have with implementing tactical battles, is that because they happen on a 2d map/plane, even if the battles are automatically fought, it will be on a 2d plane and we will lose the cool 3D combat viewer battles. It will be like watching a checkers game play itself out.
Which version did you buy? If it's "Ultimate" then the game should update to 2.03.
Is it only impulse ads? Or do other ads pop up? If yes, then you probably have malware.
Do you have the latest ATI drivers? I think it's 10.11 right now. Here's how my logo looks. Does it seem sharper?
do you have a screenshot of it?
all the gamestop's near me don't sell any PC games. I got GCII at Best Buy for $20 though...

Oh and thanks for that referral, how funny, did it not occur to you that I might have checked Google already? From the sketchy information available (even on Stardocks own site) it seems us Europeans have access only to the Kalypso owned version (mentioned above) which I think aren't curently patch supported which beggars the questi
I think the Yor are probably the closest to the covenant...
I'm not sure I understand the hard stance against it.
I think it's just as Brad says in the original post...that when resources and time are spent working on MP, they aren't spent working on something more important.
Quoting charon2112, reply 578 Quoting RenegadePeon, reply 576 If not already said, many people view single player as training for multiplayer. If there isn't multiplayer, they don't feel there is a point. I have to totally disagree with this. Some games are fun with MP, but a turn-based 4x empire building game...not so much. That is something to be enjoyed slowly
Really the only way I would enjoy MP in a 4x game would be play by email, that would allow the time required to have a good game.
