GalCiv story also reminds me a lot of Babylon 5 storyline. In Bab5 you had the First ones, of which the Vorlons took care of younger races (good) and the Shadows used them for evil. I the end they both manipulated the younger races and they rebelled led by, guess who, humans who formed a coallition.

Few questions from a newbie in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

Hi all :). I've played Masters of Orion 2 before and loved it. From reading about Gal Civ2 I can see that they are very similar. Now, I have few questions: 1. Is it worth getting this game if I already own MOO2? (I mean gameplay sounds similar, the only diff are graphiscs) 2. If I get Ultimate Edition with all of the expansions, do I get them with the latest updates at the time of print? 3. It seems like a silly question, but if I order through Stardock

Download it on my laptop, put it on a flash drive and then install it on a comp with the game.

Oh just the comp that the game is on doesn't have internet connection for now, that is all. If I install 1.05 do I need to install previous patches?

First of all hi everybody :). I just got the game since I'm a big fan of 4X games (even though this is not a true TBS 4X). This game feels like an update of Conquest: Frontier Wars, if you know of this game. Anyways, I know that all updates are now done through IMPULSE but I was wondering which is the last stand-alone patch? I read somwhere that it was 1.05, but for the life of me I can't find that forum thread to confirm before starting the download. Also, do I need to dow
