Well, actually I wanted to ask you why you used Korath AND still researched Planetary Invasion, but when I took a look @ Mumble's pics I think you're going for your racial medal, isn't it? BTW, your secrets are kept confidential in our realm [e digicons]|-)[/e] and here's one for you: ZYW's are *most* easy on Suicidal, plus they net more score then. Mumble nice score - you are now second on first try in an expansion that is new to you.... the real outplay

I play v2.03. However, personally I'd prefer if the ability to change that would be there. Esp. for the 3 starting planets it could be easy to get some "optimization" hehe. So, question is, how are you actually doing it? You are a modder, isn't it? Could it be related to t

The YOR are best at production; statistically their end-tier fac has the highest output. However, in the outplay that might be different, because of other races racial-bonuses, or an inability to use end-tier facs due to lack of $. I assume in Ground Combat they are good, too (if judging on "Soldering" solely), although I can't say how "Courage" works into this as well (where other races have much better bonuses on it). The same could be said from speed, where you would have t
*Very* intriguing idea [e digicons][/e] - I'll be watching this thread [e digicons]B)[/e] (just kidding) (LOL still giggling)
I experienced this in a ZYW, although ony one time. I was colonizing the 3rd planet, building a starport and buying a ship; but subsequently I couldn't follow my research-order to the last tech. So I reloaded to colonize but built a lab instead, just to get a colonization-event which yielded a 100% research-bonus-tile, which was not there game the before. Was positively surprised about that. The game stuck well into my mind because, actually in the same turn/game, my FlagShip found a

The backstories of GalCiv are great, they imbue this game with spirit, and some consider the roleplayign aspects of this game the #1 reason to play it. I guess esp. modders & AAR writers can sing a song about this... Sometimes things doesn't add up well, but couldn't that be said from any movie/series on TV todays, if one takes himself the time to look into it? Nevertheless, I have nothing against constructive criticism, and hopefully folks with such sharp look will join t
#2) Actually, the planets are not generated until they are colonized. You can rerun the colonization and get a different result.
In DA this is not true, there the planets are generated invariably at map-setup, with the sole exception that IF you get a PQ colonization-event, those additional tiles might also contain bonus-tiles. But still interesting. In what version/expansion did you notice that?

Thank you. Basically the strategy was to maximize research in an all-abundant setup via lots of Econ-SB's. I don't know if the planets/systems are somehow nearer to one another as in a gigantic galaxy, but a very nice side-effect is that the general pop (which is brought into the game through the StockAI's and the Minors) can be ferried around (post-swindle), and by leveling them a fairly well growth-rate, and in turn, EconScore can be achieved. That's basically the diffe
I've got a game from UbiSoft, too - HOMMV, which is probably the reason why I became a GalCiv2-player. A year back I bought these two games together and (being not a gamer at all) these are the only two games I do possess (on PC). Back then I even found HOMMV more attractive (GalCiv2 DL seemed to be too difficult to start gaming with...) but I was actually "forced" to play GalCiv2 because HOMMV rejected its own CD. Really strange, I had to insert the
I second 1) & 2) we need more of everything, planets, higher pop, more tiles, more racial-distribution points [e digicons]:dur:[/e] 4) In a way this are the 'Influence'-tiles & buildings. Although I have to say that Tourism-income is just too small. Even with that UP Vote which will double it there is not much of significance in it. 7) Very good idea, although you can do that already to some extent using Asteroid Mines. But esp. to trade food/pop between own world

Noticed that too, and assumed this only to be a display artifact. Could never make any use of it, nor did I try as I play 0/0/100 throughout the whole game. The number of displayed mines varies from game to game, but I never had 14, more like 6 or 8. In my current game, there are none... strange. I think this belongs into the Bug-section... You may want to ARC the starting system of the AI as well, which altogether will result in having 10 planets more in-game, prefe
