I have to say that these are all very interesting posts. Quite a good topic to comment on as well. Another mod idea, is to make a ship that is designed entirely for the purpouse of bombing planets. It would sorta work like a Spore Ship (except that it won't turn the planet Toxic), and a spy put together (allowing you to choose the building/buildings you'd like to bombard. To prevent players from using this ship like cheap-asses and wiping out all of the planet's structures in one turn,

Thanks MottiKhan, forgot about the "Spy" invasion tactic (if you will). Of course I have been playing DL for the past few days. I'll eventually revert back to DA. And I wish I had TA (sounds like heck of a lot of fun). I also like playing the Battle of the Gods scenario style. Some people don't like to do this, and I can see why. Although I like to play it because it's so much more epic. In my current game, there is a series of on-going skirmishes taking place between me, the Drath, the
I personally hate Mass Drivers due to the PQ drop as well as Gas Warfare. I just cannot see myself wasting so much potentially useful space. And Tidal Disruptors are great, because most of the AI's devolop their world really idiotically. Tidal Disruptors are great for destroying a fair deal of generally useless structures, allowing me to build whatever and however on the newly conquered planet. If the AI's would use "All-X" strategies (and on top of that intelligently), I would be a lit
You know, using Tidal Disruptors (40-70% loss in enemy advantage factor and a couple of buildings destroyed) and Mini Soldiers (40-70% gain in your advantage factor and maybe just maybe one building destroyed) are my favorite attack strategies. Information Warfare is nice as well (sometimes). Hope this gives you something to think about. ROCK ON!!! :HOT:
You forgot about Economy Starbase modules. If a planet is within an Economy Starbase's area of effect (and that starbase has Manufacturing modules), the Starbase also provides Military production for your planet/planets within that area of effect. Hope this helps. ROCK ON!!! :HOT:
Okay, the early "Blitzkrieg" has been noted Noctilucus. The part about not trading Diplomacy techs has been well noted as well. However, I believe that being a "Technology Whore" makes the game more challenging for me. That's because I still play on Normal and because I am doing what I am doing, the game actually gets slightly more difficult. Either way, thanks for the comment. LET'S RAGE!!!!! :HOT:
Major (Thalan or Yor, point is that it was one of those two).
Well then my game is completely F-ed Up. I don't know what's wrong with it, but that doesn't change the fact that I won an Influence victory while I was at war. Maybe this happened because I declared war a couple of turns before the countdown finished. Either way I don't understand why it happened. Until someone clears this up for me..... Let's Rage!!!! :HOT:
I don't mean to be putting a "wet towel" on your idea Kzinti, but Influence wins are inevitable. Even if you are at war with another race, you can still win by influence. As long as this victory condition is turned on you will always be able to win an influence victory no matter what. I've done it before, I was at war with another race on the very turn it said that I would win an Influence victory, and even though I was still at war with them by the end of that turn, I still won an Influence vic
LOL!!!!!!!! I'll keep that in mind MottiKhan. :CONGRAT: (P.S.-Sorry about asking my question where I did ;p , thanks for answering anyways) Keepin' the Peace!!! :HOT: ROCK ON!!!!! :HOT:
I like your thinking SIAlON, you are very insightful. Your debate is extremely well backed up and to the point. Not to mention being informative. In short I loved your post. And like everyone here already did, you get +1 Karma. ROCK ON!!!!! :HOT:
By the way........ I don't have TA (Twilight of the Arnor). And I don't have any mods if you want to know. So it could not have been a Custom Map/Planet/Whatever. Keepin' the Peace!!! :HOT:
Kzinti, MottiKhan, Yar........... I am being absolutely honest. This is True (read it, True), as in, it is NOT False. This is an absolutely True encounter. I don't know how it happened, but it did. And on top of that........... IT WAS FUCKING AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :HOT: That doesn't mean you have to believe it however. I know that it is true, and that's all that matters to me. Either way.......... Rock On (all of you)!!!!!!!!! :HOT:
Just Rage. It's all there is to it. :CONGRAT: And Steve is a friend of mine. :HOT: He's crazee. :p As am I. ;p Point is that you should Rage. :CONGRAT: It doesn't have to make sense. ;) ROCK ON!!!!!!! :HOT:
Thanks, I'll download it sooner or later!!! So RAGE!!! :HOT: Steve says you'll want to!!! :CONGRAT:
I am on the verge of posting a game update, I haven't had enough time to play since our last update!!! ;p RAGE!!! :HOT: Steve says you'll want to!!! :CONGRAT:
This is all very interesting. I'm quite impressed!!! :CONGRAT: I'm less of a nerd than most of you!!! Just joking by the way!!! ;) But seriously this is quite nice. I learned a lot of new things. I can see how if a metal is too solid, it breaks under all the pressure. I forgot about Gallium, how it to is liquid at a certain temperature. I also like Cobra's post, because it is slightly more in-depth. I like the philosophical approach that Bigglesworth brought to all of
I understand how your strategy works for High-Scoring and all that, it's quite interesting as well. If I ever start playing on the Metaverse, I'll be sure to keep your strategy in mind. However the chief difference between us is point scoring. You mentioned it yourself. My strategy is based more arround having fun, and challenging myself at the same time. And I believe that someone (forget his user name) has made a post about being able to put 32 Starbases around a planet, with
Before I begin, I am going to shamelessly advertise a Strategy Forum post I made recently :CONGRAT: . It goes under the title of "All-Economy Strategy". If anyone is intrigued, please check it out :CONGRAT: . However as a warning, it's a long read, you might just want to skip to the Replies section ;p . Now to begin.............. I was being a nerd today at the beach (aren't we all ;p ) due to the fact that the water was too damned cold.
Thanks to: Inches, Don Basilio and Zettai Baka about the Minor Civ Colonization thing. :CONGRAT: Another OT question about: Karma. What in the heck is it??? ;p Why do people like Kryo, Mumblefratz, Piznit, Etc. have so much??? ;p What are other ways of getting it??? ;p I'm confused as hell about it??? ;p MottiKhan, please explain??? ;p Until then....... Rock On!!! :HOT:
Thanks for the insight. I was trying to formulate a "No-Factories" strategy in my mind, but I guess it won't work out the way I thought it would. Thanks any ways. Let's Rage!!!!!1 :HOT:
Oh and one more thing...... You are supposed to buy your technologies off of other races, researching when you are really desperate. ;p I'll be posting updates on my current game that uses this strategy soon. Till then... Let's Rage!!!!!!!! :HOT:
Addressed to Freeman43: About your not building up a sufficient military force, you don't need to (but you can). This strategy only requires you to build Economy, Morale, and to a lesser extent Farms. With the money you will be making all you will have to do to build up a sufficient Military force is by either: Rush-Buying, Leasing, or Trading for it with other races. If you really want to build up a Military force the traditional way (by doing it yourself), just capture a bunch of asteroid
I'll see what I can do about checking out your files. Until then......... ROCK ON!!!!!!!!! :HOT:
Thanks for the warning, it's just that I get a bit carried away when I get onto a good topic, I'll try keeping it in check. Anticipating your comments!!! :CONGRAT: Until then........ LET'S RAGE!!!!!!!
