Creative (for me) generally works only when I'm researching Defense techs. Otherwise, it's a waste of a point.
I like to stockpile my resources as best I can. I never have enough starports to rush-buy a 100 ships per turn. Maybe I should just put one on each world just for the hell of generating those 100's of ships per turn. I like to keep every race alive for as long as possible. So whenever the Drath start going a bit out of line with their manipulations. I am there to be their antagonist. So I funnel cash to the races who are at war, in order to sign peace treaties.
