According to the documentation, you should be able to animate components in the ship designer. How do you do this? Are only certain parts able to be animated, and if so, which ones? Is there a special mounting that must be used for the animation? If so, what is it? I added a "saucer" shaped structure and wanted it to rotate, but it does nothing regardless of which axis I specify for it to rotate around. I have dismantled default ship designs that

RTFM? How about "read my f------ post"! I mentioned I'd played this and previous iterations of GalCiv for years and am well aware that random events can occur. But I have never before experienced a game-ending random event, and am puzzled at the purpose of such an incident. Reloading at an ealier point to hopefully avoid the cataclysm begs the question of why such an occurrence is in the game at all. It certainly didn't add to the fun or challenge of the game; it just ended it. May as well

I've played Gal Civ since the original several years ago, and have gotten all of the newest versions as they were released. However, I never experienced the game blatantly cheat in favor of the computer players until now. I was playing a beginner level game until there were only two players left, myself and the Altarian Resistance (which was slightly stronger than me). I husbanded my forces, researched foils to the computer player's weaponry, and was close to a final war when the game announc

Problem: there is no Uninstall button or icon, and when I tried to uninstall from Windows Control Panel I received an error message ("Could not find INSTALL.LOG file"). I hesitate to install over the possibly corrupt version on my computer. Before someone suggests I look in the Totalgaming/GalCiv2/ di

I don't know if this belongs here or in the In-Game thread: there is no Uninstall, at least for my downloaded game. I downloaded the game (now ver 1.0X) but also bought the disk. I have been having a lot of problems with CTDs, so I decided to uninstall and try re-installing using the disk. Problem: there is no Uninstall button or icon, and when I tried to uninstall from Windows Control Panel I received an error message ("Could not find INSTALL.LOG f

I don't think that impatience has anything to do with it. This happened to me tonight when I was reloading from a previous CTD that occurred when I saved a modified ship design. I have seen and read about crashes caused by virtually every activity in the game. I have yet to finish a playing session without a CTD, and it is getting really tiring. I just posted another problem that I also sent to Stardock Support.

I've encountered random crashes when trying to upgrade a ship design. No rhyme or reason for the crash; I sent the SE files to Stardock. A non-fatal bug is one I noticed after accidentally placing a rally point on an unoccupied planet: arriving ships stopped outside the planet, and the turn button went away. The game seemed to have stalled, but when I changed one of the affected ship's destination to other than the suspect rally point, everything re

This sounds like heresy, but how do you uninstall the beta? It doesn't have an uninstall icon, and the program doesn't appear in the Add/Remove programs list. Do I delete the directory or are there entries in my registry to be purged? I assume the retail version will have a "normal" uninstall utility.

About half the time the initial survey ship will go to an anomaly and just sit there and not detect the anomaly. If I send the ship elsewhere, then back to the anomaly, it will report it. No particular type of anomaly or distance involved. I will try to send the debug file and save game to CariElf.

I don't think the config program is working on my machine. I set the video, but the program doesn't appear different, and when I return to the config program, the setting are at default. Perhaps it needs an "Apply" button or some feedback to tell the user it worked.
