It works wonderfully in-game. Track 1 DOES need to be added in order for TA to play the appropriate music (it switches tracks according to the amount

I haven't yet started playing with modding Demigod, but this may be helpful to others. Little fact (unless they've taken it out, after Supcom) The engine at least supports pngs, you do have to rename them .dds but it will load and convert. This is useful when you are testing out your mod. I'd recommend converting prior to releasing it. In terms of DDS editors for other editors: DDS plugin for gimp http://nifelheim.dyndns.org/~cocidius/dds

It's actually very easy. Look on winehq, and follow that. (You'll have to add one thing to you apt repsositories, which is the wine feed for (k)ubuntu.) For installing wine on (k)ubuntu: http://www.winehq.org/download/deb It worked fine for me on Jaunty (9.04) on an nvidia card on multiple machines. The ability to boot from flash drive and able to play Demigod anywhere with an nvidia card: Priceless. ;) (It'd

Demigod works fine in single player on Linux via wine. (I've tested this.) I think multiplayer lan can work. (I keep forgetting to test this though.) I was unable to test Internet multiplayer, because it's updated demanding a patch every time I've tried. Impulse does not work, as it's too caught up in .NET to be usable. If you've got access to a Windows machine to update it, I think it can work. Or possibly Impulse Anywhere might work for you.

Since someone else thought of it and used it. It's worse with oak. Consider that it will work 100% of the time with oak: Shield + HOL + Orb of defiance. You are assured of all 3k. (Granted you can't attack for 5 seconds.) EDIT: I see tassador already mentioned that particular combo. (There's another thing which makes this combo even worse, but since no one has mentioned it, I won't atm.)

As far as I can tell, having done this to people, stun works through shield, but does NOT stop HOL. HOL's stop condition is damage, which is prevented. A similar thing can be done by QoT + Shield, but it wont' be assured of 6 seconds of stopping, just however much her shield is. An Oak/QoT can also do this to a teammate who is in trouble, just wait until shieleded then pop the HoL, and continue fighting, if you know it's coming. (And there are other thin

Having played against this repeatedly, It's a good build. Especially as part of a team with good communication. Two areas I disagree with (and they are probably going to be changed and used to beat me down, but whatever): A) Initial order. My suggestion is this: 1) Hammer Slam 2) Power of the Tower 3) Archery towers Reason being, if you have the teleport amulet, even as rook you are highly likely to capture at least one flag, th

I don't have much evidence, except my own play, and it seems like today, demigods are getting hung up on corners a lot more than they did, or acting in strange ways. One example, Leviathan, click on the ramp/bridge/path in front of your spawn, then click attack on a demigod anywhere near there, and the demigod will march back to your spawn, before figuring this out. I wasn't the only one who has commented on it (from both winning and losing teams, in multiple matches) on how i

Also, the proxies are kind of silly in some cases. Example, last night I and a friend were playing on the Internet, sitting next to each other. I was hosting, and there was one person who wasn't proxied to me, but was proxied to my friend. No difference in network settings, so I just found it funny.

While this is not a problem per-se with the match making, it is something that happened last night. 4 people who looked to me, based on pings and such that they were on a lan, reasonable pings, and then the game starts, and it's pretty much confirmed all 4 of the other team shoot to 3-4sec (yes, you read that right, 3000-4000+) While in this case, it was people with insufficient connection, but I'm wondering if in the case of multiple players from the same IP, i

I mostly play Sedna, and usually if I get HoL it's not for the health regen, it's for the mana regen. Frankly, it's too versatile for the cost. It should probably be separated out to one that's only health and one that's only mana, or drop the extras from it entirely Hmmm, it seems the cheapest way to get +15 health from items is about 2k (There might be something cheaper than 550+1500 (which gives some +max health too)) +50% mana, is worth at least 600 (which actually gives +

Replays! I was playing a 4v4 game, and their TB hit me with a 1050 damage fireball, at L7, which should take L10. I'm not certain if this was a bug/exploit (even unknown to the player), or my imagination. Replays would make it so much easier to find out. Friends able to join the same custom game. Also, message windows poping up while playing.

Just had an odd experience, playing with mostly europeans. One player had for a time a huge ping (1100-1600 to most) which calmed down in a little bit, and let us play, with him only occasionally spiking. A few minutes later, out of nowhere, the connection window appears and blam everyone ejected. No timer, just seemingly auto eject. I had the tab open at the time of this, and there wasn't anything to me above 260, so I have no idea what happened, it didn't appear to be

I was trying to think of unique unit ideas, and one came to me. (Oh, and if this does get implemented, my apologies to GPG's lua coders.) A demigod that is able to split his persona and be in multiple places, each a lot weaker. I would have to say he'd be a general, based on the idea. One of his skill trees is to split, this provides his special 'minions'. As the skill tree goes up, he can have more splits, probably 1 copy at L1, up to maybe 4 at L15. This act

For oak being overpowered: You just can't kill him! You kill him, and he comes back with a vengence and kicks your ass.

Eternal Silence, I agree with most of what you say. Torch Bearer if he doesn't run like a girl, is usually equal to more money. :) On the other hand, there was one person playing a hybrd that was scarily nasty. UB seems to be fairly balanced, the only thing that seems a bit powerful is the spit and then only early on. Erebus, yeah, he's probably a little bit OP, but that may be my choice of usually playing Sedna.

Playing Sedna, anything that interrupts me is annoying. Granted, I usually go for a ton of passive heal, and health steal, so I don't usually have to use heal much. Sedna's weakness is her lack of range (her only ranged attack is pounce, and that uses mana), and her lack of Area effect (the only one she gets is 200 damage with the 4th heal). There are certain ways I get around this, but overall, it's still a big weakness. EDIT: Oh, and unless specced for attack,

Does for me. So Cox may be actually blocking in your area. Make sure you are using the one above and *not* what Cox's DNS reports, which is incorrect.

So far, I've been fairly positive, because it's mostly worked. Albiet with problems, but the game was playable. As of right now, I'm frustrated and a bit angry about the game, and patches that apparently break things. Overall: Bugs, that are related to Stardock/GPG: It wouldn't extract. Apparently Impulse won't work with very deep directories. Also required a redownload after changing any of the directories. Alt-Tab crashing, crashing in general. NAT wi

https://forums.stardock.com/326700 Cox is apparently changing the DNS record, add the following to /etc/hosts (In windows, located in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) 38.98.152.138 irc.stardock.com Or use alternative DNS servers. (In the past I've used OpenNIC, for other reasons. I'm sure there's more than just that out there.)

It didn't used to. I signed on when demigod was first announced, then it couldn't connect later, though I can connect to other locations just fine.

I noticed the tray icon had something on it, so I tried to update, and got the same error. Launched it, and it gives a message about having to update. Also tried restarting impulse, which had no effect. Bloody hell, DO NOT try to Cancel and restart it. 'The installed version of Demigod cannot be updated. Please uninstall this version before attempting to get the newest version.'
