It's been four years! And TotA still has bugs? This seems difficult to fathom. Sounds like modding is in my future.

A l-o-n-g time ago I bought a GalCiv II disk off a discount rack...ten bucks I think. Great game. So I was among the first to buy Gal Civ complete. Digital download. Full price brand new which I very rarely do...but Stardock and their game had impressed me. Because I had an older version on a disk I was able to move the new version onto my gaming computer and play the new version of GCII. After three months of trying I was finally told 'yeah we incl
That's what I do, and it worked for DL and DA. There is no practical reason that it didn't work with TotA. TotA and DA gave me the exact same results that they gave me on the original installation. Last time I reinstalled and DA worked, but I got the same result again from TotA. In a bit of weirdness I deleted the sig.bin and tried again, and mysteriously it worked. This time it was harder getting multiple attempts at sig.bin generation. Stardock seemed quite c
When I bought the complete GC2 package by download I was a happy guy. I had bought GC2 off a discount rack some time before and thought it was great. I never updated it. I was thinking about updating it, but opted to just wait for TotA. When my downloaded package was ready I ported it over to my game machine, and in just three weeks I managed to push all three titles through the manual activation process. That seemed a bit of an extreme PITA, but it was a great

And I'm not talking the city, I mean the whole actual state outside of it. (not long island either).
or the People's Republic of California...
I have to smile that my (mostly) rhetorical question drew an answer from 'RhetoricalSun'! I would have played it out, but was pressed into a reinstall instead by some issues of my own making. I needed to do the 1.96 upgrade anyway. I leave mega events on even while I complain about them...the galaxy isn't a 'fair' place, and they seem to reflect that...three cheers for the Jagged Knife!!!
So the galactic event of the day is the appearance of the 'peacekeepers'. At first I had the bizarre thought that these peacekeepers would be a good thing. My military was running about half of everyone else's, and they were all at war with each other, so some big gunners cruising atound whacking their warships would be a big help, right? So when some pairs of dreadnaughts appeared in my space and tried to whack my meager defense forces I was a little irritated
Wow, i'm in the same boat. Same debug.err message, GC2 works but not DA.Unfortunately, i e-mailed tech support but they were unable to help me. If you have success, please let me know.
I spent a good chunk of time in chat with the tech support folks. Got some promising leads that they are going to study, and I'm going to try some things over the weekend with reinstalling. Should have an answer next week I expect.
Okay, despite that moving endorsement I play mostly zoomed out...
No difference, other than the reference to vertex processing in debug.err. I changed the path back to normal. Any other ideas?
No difference. Should I change that back or leave it? Is the hardware vertex processing something I can turn off at the nVidea control panel?

I get the black screen for a couple seconds, then it just goes to desktop. This only happens with DA, GC2 works fine. The debug.err for DA just ends at shell initialization complete, and up to that point it looks like the one from GC2. I updated drivers, tried setting size to my desktop resolution, running in window...any other ideas?
They actually did already...well, someone did, from the chatroom. I took a chunk of registry from this machine and merged it on that machine. Once that was done SDC could run...it still complains about the lack of connection, but it will run. All is well now. GC2 and DA are activated and the request by e-mail is in for TotA. I figure I'll give this version of GC2 a run, since it is many upgrades beyond what I had, and then go a couple runs through DA, so I can be patient about the last acti
"4) You can do that. You will need to use Stardock Central to download and archive the game. Then you will need to transfer the various archives to your gaming computer, then use SDC to install the archive. But you will have additionnal steps to do since an activation, linked with the windows installation of the computer, is required for each game, DL, DA and TA . Take a look here https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=447&nav=0,52,146,147 fo
Follow up issue...SDC seems to need an internet connection to run. Is there a secret to launching it in an unpack archive only mode or something?
My first computer game was a backgammon game loaded from cassette tape on a TRS80 model I...and to give an idea of the quality of opponent the AI had to offer the board was set up incorrectly...my guess is the programmers had never actually played backgammon.
Fair enough...thanks.
Okay...this may be easier than it is looking so far, but if someone can just give me simple directions I'd appreciate it. Current status is that I just bought the whole deal by download only. Stardock Central is installed and running, and currently shows GalCivII and Tutorials as installed, movies installing, and everything through Twilight as queued. Clearly that is going to take a while to finish, which gives me time to figure out what to do next. GCII has shown up on this
