Digital Downloads, can someone help?

Hello, I'm quite interested in getting the ultimate bundle but I understand that it's only available via digital download. I have a few questions if anyone can help me:

1) The only price seems to be in US dollars, I'm from the UK so is there a way to find out how much it will actually cost me in pounds sterling?

2) There appears to be shipping costs. Am I right in thinking that the whole purchase is a digital download and therefore no shipping costs will be incurred?

3) How long will it take to download the entire bundle on a broadband connection?

4) The computer I'm currently using is not the one I wish to play one, the one I wish to play on has no internet connection so can I transfer my game to that computer? If so, how is this done?

5) How does this game compare to Civ 4 (one of my favourites) and the original GalCiv (which I enjoyed but never really got into to a great extent)?

Thanks in advance!

1) As the pounds strelings is roughtly equivalent to 2 USD., the ultimate bundle pack will cost you nearly 30£

2) True. As it is a digital download, no shipping costs and no custom taxes ;)

3) I think there are roughly 3GB worth of contents to be downloaded for the whole bundle

4) You can do that. You will need to use Stardock Central to download and archive the game. Then you will need to transfer the various archives to your gaming computer, then use SDC to install the archive.

But you will have additionnal steps to do since an activation, linked with the windows installation of the computer, is required for each game, DL, DA and TA . Take a look here https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=447&nav=0,52,146,147 for the steps needed.

BTW, be sure to have the latest audio/video drivers available for your computer.

"Broadband" means anything faster then dial up, so it could vary quite a bit. It took me a few hours to download the entire bundle (including movies, which are the single biggest piece and are I believe optional), but I'm on a slow 1.5mbps line. On a faster cable line, it wouldn't have taken that long.

I think it compares pretty well to Civ 4 actually. Colonization stops a lot faster in my experience then city founding does, simply because there's comparatively few planets to colonize (whereas you can put a city almost anywhere in Civ). Picking what ships to build is more complicated due to all the different weapon types (but watching your custom built ships trashing the computer is really amusing).

That sounds simple enough, right up until SDC demands an internet connection the first time it runs on the machine you want to install the archives on. I ended up in the chatroom, where a very helpful person gave me the necessary directions to manually edit the registry so that SDC could bypass connecting to the net, but my opinion is that running digital downloads on an unconnected machine is not for the feint of heart. I can't say if it's worth it, since I haven't got my activation completed yet, but I'm confident.
