Or just slows it down.
Dearmad
I wanted to change some of the ways the galaxy is made when you start the game- star distributions and the like. Is there an XML that exposes any of the random map generation or not?
Why no answer on this thread? Was this issue "solved?" I still have this problem. profdvrdwn, did you figure out the problem?
I think there should be a way to nullify the info gathering spies too- it should be rare and passive as well- the spies you retain in your empire should be doing that. Keeping secrets is sometimes important.
Got it and sent to cari. Yeah it says ship graphics could not be loaded in there... hm...
I like him. Why? Think about it. He's the flag waver for that sort of crusade and... ...he's incompetent, in so many ways. What better enemy to have around?
I'm noticing this too... wow, seems like a major bug.
Looks like my girlfriend when she's angry. Haven't seen that look much at all thank god.
One example of a paper fleet is: a fleet with just weapons installed built in such a way to maximize the total off/def of your entire navy without concern for weapons that could actually damage the enemy (rock/paper/scissors, right?). The AI doesn't appear to take this into account at all. it also doesn't take into account hull size influence on staying power, from what I can see. Larger hulls should count for more.
I emailed Cari a savegame. Do you mean the err that's in the main galciv folder? Or... is there only one and looking for another is a waste of time?
I se the OPs point. I've always sort of said this baout this game. Diplomacy is such easy cheese in this game, I've never understood why brad didn't focus a little more time to it. It is so simple to get the AI to do your bidding for peanuts. The overall understanding of what has value needs changing. Th AI undervalues its planets. It completely undervalues what it should get as a reward for going to war... my god this should be much harder to do but on a dynamic scale dep
So what was the outcome of this... seems like a bad bug if it was one.
Nevermind I found the protocols... carielf has an email.
Not to be cruel... but I hope that v2.0 makes this thread and all your labors completely meaningless. I want a better spy system.... Hope you understand this in the spirit it is meant. ;)
Yes I have a savegame. Where do I send it?
Wow you're a stubborn one with tongue-in-cheek insults to boot. Thanks. You're completely off topic now. Total range has nothing to do with moves per turn. If your ships can go out to a certain maximum distance from your civ, this has nothing to do with how fast they get there if you plopped engines into them that make them move faster than the standard engine-less ships. or.. haven't you gotten that yet? And what does anything you've mentioned yet have to do with a adding
Loads of enemy AI ships are invisible on the main map screen and in the info screen, and everywhere... really annoying!
You didn't get it. It's the movement per TURN that is important here, not the overall total range...
Well it got worse now... about half of the other race's ships are invisible. Small and tiny hulls... not sure if medium hulls are too though. This is horrible!
The production slider should, in fact, be taken out of the game and set to the 100% equivalent underneath the hood so to speak. It's just confusing for new players, and only the very worst players would ever need to move that thing back down below 100%.
And I'm cranky enough to demand a *computer* do the *computing* for me. Let me worry about bigger things than counting squares.
the who what?
I used them against the AI and they worked but it is HARD to find invisible ships on the map! I hate bugs like this... how do they get introduced? Astounding. So waiting for v2.0 huh? There's another OLD problem in the game that I'm amazed still was not fixed... the blinking WHITE frame in the YOR neutral animation/movie. I had to delete that single frame and re-smack that animation file. My point is, that one is over two years old, annoying as hell, and no one's ev
Restarts are not making them visible... grrr....
Pretty much. Select a ship, then either hover over possible places to go and read the numbers plus see the path taken (sometimes critical to know), or have some sort of faded color circle beneath the ship showing possible 1 week destinations.
