I can't see the ships in any view, but I can select them. They were a gift. Bug?
Dearmad
OMG you mean this was never in this game? Wow! I have such vivid memories of it working this way. LOL. Well it would sure help a lot as a feedback. Or even a shrinking color-circle to denote range remaining.
How does one get an espionage level up to a high level now? Placing spies gets them kileld instantly... I don't get this anymore. HELP!
I could have sworn that in previous versions of the game it "previewed" your move with a line so you knew how far you could get in the turn. Now when I select a ship there's nothing, if I r-click and hold there is no preview. And right clicking makes the ship move then deselects it?? Is this WAD? I want to r-click hold to preview the move with a line conencting destination and ship- isn t this how it used to work. Then release the button to move. Or simply
Default ship rotation is OFF for the SHIPYARD screen. Default ship rotation is ON for the ship INTELLIGENCE REPORT screen. I am sick of clicking the little button each time I design a ship and eachtime I want to look at one in the "role play" intelligence screen. How about it?
This needs to be looked at as to whether or not it's a bug or wad.
Sort of a pointless thread though. The OP needs two new skills: Learn to save his games. Learn to play without Mega events.
wow. I say bingo for entropy's analysis: great players harness the AI's and exploit their superior production/research to make it their own... it would be hard to fight against another diplomatically superior ai... one little change I suggest: as soon as you're building a fleet that looks like it perfectly counters one of the AI's fleets... the AI's should speak up: Hey your ships look like their designed to wipe out my ships... I don't like that. You need to build ships that wip
Oh GOD, John Titor II is here! The Easter Island bit is BS though... we already know exactly how that happened... no aliens involved...
Pay someone the big bucks...
I agree. I assuemd this was how the game played and haven't invaded a planet that I knew I couldn't inhabit... but now... meanwhile this shold be fixed if it is true.
Ok, that's a nice use of them. But being able to find EVERY placed building in an AI's worlds using only ONE spy!? I don't like that game mechanic. It should be more difficult than merely clicking on your spy, clicking on a planet, and then using the arrow buttons to inspect every single planet an enemy owns. Curious, though, what stopped the Ai from neutralizing your other spies? Does neutralizing a spy require the sacrifice of one of your own?
I LOVE how this game (sad that it is ONLY this one so far for me) has BOTH cores operating when I check the task manager... I think, "It's about time SOMEONE began using that second core, for crying out loud." YAY!
I agree. I miss it from GC2. It was fine. i turned it all the way up and it sorta works, but it's not very user freindly.
Well simply adding in one file to the basic mod directory worked for me. -range is nice. Makes the exploration more fun.
..and heartbreak, I think. The AI is probably improved.
you're hilarious. so oddly, but kindly, off the mark. we WANT it to figure into the game in a more bothersome manner so it MATTERS.. get it now?
I'll have to try that, GW- didn't think of that. I admit I'm a *wee* bit disappointed with the expansion of the spy game- it isn't much in the scheme of things. And the revelation of being able to see EVERY AI's planet by cycling through them at any point with just ONE spy in your arsenal is a little... well, I cna't believe that was completely intentional... I don't mean jsut seeing that they have a oplanet but the entire LAYOUT of it. That's a bit much. The game designer
I'll try to mess with this in a fe hours when I get home this evening. See if it works for me.
Im still playing DL and i havn't noticed range as being an issue? I only notice it when i suddenly find i cannot go somewhare, apart from that, It is not really somthing you think about, except that you can sell the life support technology freely to the AI without worrying about it helping them out! ...and... that would be the point of this thread... thanks for helping out... :o)
Well I'm up to modding this if the variables are exposed... but I really have thought this all along since v1.0 of GC1. It got nerfed somewhere along the line...
It seems moons still provide a production boost, but do planetary rings still provide a research boost? Can't find it in the manual, and have trouble detecting it in the planetary sumamry screen... Anyone confirm?
I can't believe what a tragic ending ensued! That was a good read but it also SUCKED if you know what I mean.
The internal political game is lacking in GCIIDA, IMO. I miss version 1 of GalCiv (the Win version) in which staying elected truly was dfifficult, but I'm willing to compromise and came up with, what I think is a good idea: The political party with the SECOND most votes in the elctions gains SOME sort of influence. now, let's keep this simple to make it realistically possible to implement: The effects could be mostly negative, in other words a 1/5 or so the opposite effect th
