To keep the capital planet as such, you need to completely eliminate the enemy during the turn when you capture the capital.

Once done, destroy the enemy, taking the capital planet last and it'll be yours with all bonuses intact.
So if I'm reading this correctly..... In any given turn, I eliminate all non-capitol planets FIRST.....and then hit the capitol planet. And this has to be done on ONE turn?

Yes the 1st 20mil is my capitol. Ahhh, I think it just clicked. I didn't realize pop only affected income. I assumed more people meant more bodies to build and research stuff. Is there a standard percent that the 'capitol' world operates above others? Will capturing another races 'capitol' world give the same vamped up percentages as your own 'capitol' world? Thanx

Here is a list of planets and their corresponding production (the numbers for Military, Social and Resource): 15 mil pop: M=0 S=11 r=43 8 mil pop: M=0 S=0 R=24 20 mil pop: M=26 S=26 R=119 20 mil pop: M=2 S=2 R=12 I dont understand how the 8mil pop planet is producing more 'points' of production with less that half the population. Also, how is the first 20mil producing so much more then th

Are you flying through someones space that has a -2 movement module on a military starbase? Do all ships in your fleet have the same amount of movement available? Cuz the fleet will only go as far a the lowest one.

The answer to your question is - yes. I would get ToA! It really gives an individual feel to each race. One of the best games I played I traded for tech that my race didn't have and the AI used the resources and techs I traded to them to attack me 2 turns later! I barely survived. The tech I traded for was an influence based tech and luckily it was enough to flip the Korx to my side which if they didn't, I would never have been able to keep up economically (sp).
I'd go 40k too, but Soul Storm (shitstorm) is a disgrace to the serial if you ask me. They didn't even patch it yet, and there are a couple of bugs that are literally game-killers. But it's still a good game though. Took hours of my life.
I refuse to play Soul Storm. Is it true that they haven't patched the resource bug yet?

I think I figured out what it is. It seems to be the last little square of two opposing races fighting for the influence of that sqaure. I built an Influence SB at the border of those two races who had the colors of blue and red and was shrinking their territory

I'd go Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. It's an awesome RTS, IMO. You can get the base game plus two of the expansions in one pack for like $20.00 now. It's the game that preceeded Company of Heroes and made by the same team. The Campaigns are engrossing enough to keep you interested but not keep you up till dawn. The Dark Crusade campaign has a Risk type map where each territory has its own bonuses and when you attack them you go to RTS mode. It also has diskless play. Its is simply a solid game

During the game i'm playing now a red square with a smaller blue square inside it appeared in space on the map. It doesent seem to do anything and clicking on it doesn't give any info. The graphics of the squares appear to be rendered and not some glich graphic. Does anyone have any idea what this is? How do you take a screen shot that I can post to show it?

I have never played with them on cuz I'm scared I'll be playing a great game and one will come along and ruin all my hard work at random. I have a few questions: 1. do they happen in EVERY game when turned on? 2. will more that one happen during a game? 3. does anyone know how many different evemts there are? 4. In your experiences with them, are they more fun to have on or more of a pain in the ass? 5. do they affect all races equally? (are there any race speci
Don't know. Good question. Maybe one that's so complex it makes your head eXplode?
I won't pay for a game that makes my head explode.....my wife gives me headaches for free.
Update TA to 1.96. There was a bug, but it's been fixed.
Yup, I was only getting 4-6bc also. As soon as I went to 1.96 I was getting a minimum of 20-26bc on tiny maps.
Thanks very much, LedZerggelin!
Your welcome. It's annoying when you have the same mini-map color as some one else, especially when they are right next to you. You can't tell who has the greater influence.

In the 'Appearance' menu you have: 1. Hull 2. Trim 3. Engine 4. Race = this is the one for your color on the mini-map! 5. Interface

There are no constructor HP upgrades for starbases in ToA. As for the difference from DL or DA I dont know cuz I got the whole bundle and went from the original GalCiv1 directly to ToA.
