Hmm, I might have to join in next round. I decided to try a game on these settings, and pulled out my first Painful Victory ever! (After struggling with Tough games, too. Pulling out a Painful Victory in 2 years and a Tough one in 1, I'm feeling pretty good). This league definitely seems fun enough for me to try.

Hey, I had a post about this awhile ago! And yes, I agree, I would prefer it if the AI could win under the same conditions as the human player, but if it would cause unnecessary strife for the people at Stardock, I'm very willing to let it slide.
I spend plenty of time designing my ships, but that's generally because I have no clue what to name the class, and I just try to design cool-looking ships which'll give me some sort of inspiration for a name. Granted, this makes the "Scorpion" class ship fairly common in my Drath games, but those ships just look so cool!
So I'm playing a DL game, and am engaged in a war with the Altarians, when the Arceans decide to attack me since I'm at war with one of their friends. Since I'm unable to fight this two-front war, I decide to make a quick peace with the Altarians by stealing one of their planets and then offering it back in exchange for a treaty. All works out, now I'm back to only one opponent, but a couple of turns later, the Altarians contact me and tell me that, since I've surrounded several of their plane
I'm pretty sure ships aren't race specific. In my version of the game (DL 1.5, don't have DA) all the ships are saved to the "ships" folder in the GalCiv2 folder, and it doesn't differentiate between the files according to race, so if you have a ship "Doom" for the Korx, it would have the same file name and extension of the ship "Doom" made for the Terrans, or Arceans, or whoever. Edit: As a possible fix, you could try deselecting the "Save Ship Designs to Hard Drive" option, I person
Nah, if you want to go that route it would have to be Sun Crusher.
Ooh, Sun Crusher! Original Idea for a major event: Some toolbag named Kyp steals a Terror Star and rampages around the galaxy. Wait, that sounds a little too familiar...
Whenever other races try to initiate a tech trade with me, they always offer me New Propulsion Techniques in exchange for whatever tech they want, which is generally much more difficult to get than New Propulsion Techniques, and much more useful. Granted, the A.I. may think that New Propulsion Techniques is an important tech to have, but since I'm the Korx, and already have Ion Drive, it's useless. Shouldn't the other players be offering me deals that I'm actually likely to accept, trading one
So technically it was my 2nd victory, but the first one doesn't count (The Drath had 4/5 alliances and close relations with the fifth team for a good portion of the game, never going for a diplomatic victory, and I ended up just spamming influence starbases everywhere with basically no military support). This game was much more satisfying. (Note: Due to the consumerism of the holiday season, I only have DL, have to save money for presents). What made this victory all the more enjoyabl
