I had to check the 'Show Battle Sequence' check box in the game options and then the terror star finally attacked. Nice programming. May want to fix that one.

I have the terror star parked next to a star. I select the terror star and then right click on the star to blow it up. Nothing happens. It takes away all the teror stars movement points and makes me wait another turn. What do I have to do to make it attack? Thank you.
By the way - I played another game without incident. I even put Neutrality Learning Centers and a tech capital on Mars and STILL MANAGED to get #1 in the game - much to the chagrin of some of the Charlatans on this thread who obliged themselves to go ahead and speak out and critique every step of my game that was apparantly bugged from the update.
Hunter - Enough with all of the crying and hurt feelings already. Everyone is over it and has moved on. Stop being a drama queen. AJackal - Nice try. You are a moron.
pndrev - You have no idea how annoying it was to have the AI engaging in what appeared to be blatant cheating and amounted to a huge waste of time. I was getting extremely P.O'd and to have others respond with the usual internet superiority complex and start lecturing GCTOA101 doubled the annoyance. Oh and then for some people to say it was my fault because I wasn't aware of this tribal knowledge regarding "DONT UPDATE BETAS" like I am supposed to look into a crystal ball befo
Don't even go there pndrev - Read the thread. The majority "most helpful" sheeple community played their troll card and were awfully quick to jump to conclusions with all of the "you just don't know how to play HO HO HO HA HA HA" "I need to feel superior than this guy" mumbo jumbo. At least there were a couple people who resisted the herd mentality and offered up some good advice. Props to them. Thanks again to those people. Middle fingers to the rest.
Zydor - You are a moron. While pontificating about how I don't understand the concepts, you made yourself look like a complete idiot. I started off by building research labs on every tile and a Tech Capital within the first 20 turns. I then played for a couple hours beyond that and researched up to Neutrality Learning Centers along the way. I didn't just start building Neutrality Learning Centers from scratch YOU MORON. You can also get more tiles on Mars using Habitat Impro
I removed everything and re-installed. Problem solved. Thanks for the tip, Anodos. You're the man. Middle fingers up to all the doubting Thomas "you just don't know how to play the game" monkey-boys. A special middle finger to the "RTFM" retard. Blow me.
OK, I'll give that a shot. I guess I did not get the memo about not updating betas as I typically just run the Stardock automatic updater; I don't recall ever seeing any warning that I was doing something that I should not have been. I'll try today and post back if that fixes the problem. Thank you.
Anodos - I assume that I have been playing the beta as I downloaded it MONTHS ago. I've been running the Stardock update every 1 to 2 weeks. Never had a problem until the last update. I am also playing as the "Industrialists" party - I did not mention that before either. CoReD - You are a moron. The Thalan Empire is colonizing planets that were class 0 the entire game. The habitable planets game setting is set to "OCCASIONAL". There are stars surrounding Earth in
Good lord! I know how to change tax rates and how to adjust the spending! WTF! I went ahead and started a whole new game just to prove to myself that I am not insane. I placed Neutrality Learning Centers on every tile of Mars + a Tech Capital. I also had 2 other planets with research bonuses and built learning centers on those. I set spending 100% in research and it's taking 15 turns to research STINGER and 12 turns for BASIC RAILGUNS. Planetary Invasion 60 TURNS! LO
Hey bozo the clown - Nice sarcasm! You are so clever; all of your boyfriends on here think you are so hilarious. Tax rate set to 33% Super abilities ARE DISABLED Takes 50 turns to research 3rd level entertainment The ship builder doesn't do you much good when it takes 50 turns to research the lower miniaturization levels' you can't create ships that are any better than the default crap ships.
They totally jack up the game and a 12 year old is doing the usual "Oh yea you just suck at the game that most be it HO HO HO HA HA HA" and the backup monkey chorus chimes in right on que. Go have some more Kool Aid, chumps. It's a simple no BS "NORMAL" difficulty game. I've put up nothing but market centers/banks on half my planets, using up all my trade routes, and I am constantly broke throughout the entire game. I have been updating the game weekly for the last 6 months
I just updated Twilight or Arnor to the latest version and tried to play a game and holy cow, what the heck are you people doing? The game is continually being made crappier with each new update. I get the latest update and all of a sudden the Terran Alliance leader is some she-male called "Jenna". Ok whatever, I don't have to look at it when playing. The research times are completely ridiculous. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to research lasers or 10 turns to
Is there currently a way to rename planets? When I capture a planet, I would like to rename it in honor of myself.
AND - you can name your Starbases. That way, all the geeks can call their first starbase "Deep Space 9"
One more idea. Friendly Civilizations can profit by sending freighters to your starbases. The owner of the starbase gets faster building and more influence while the owner of the freighter gets $$$$.
To make Starbases fun, all you need to do is: 1.) Build a single constructor or a fleet of constructors. 2.) Send the constructor to the location where the Starbase is to be built 3.) Start constructing the starbase. The construction process should take a long time for a single constructor. The more constructors in the fleet, the quicker the starbase is built. When construction is finished, the constructors are disposed of. 4.) Once the starbase is built, it becomes like
I had an idea this morning for a new technology that would reduce maintenance costs. If something like this already exists, sorry, I just haven't encountered it yet. Thinking something like Maintenance Procedures | Basic Infrastructure Maintenance (small buildings maint -X%) Advanced Infrastructure Maintenance (medium buildings maint -X%) Expert Infrastructure Maintenance (large buildings maint -X%) etc | Basic
I tried what you suggested and sure enough - my Earth approval shot way up within 1 turn. Thanks again for all of the replies. My only question then is - is this a feature or a bug? It just seems quirky to me.
Ok thanks. I'll try that. I never would have guessed that that was the problem.
I think 24 billion. Think I had 2 Farm II on it.
I am playing Twighlight of Arnor Terran Alliance and I can never get Earth's approval ratio above 60% when Mars sits at 100%. I drop taxes to 10% waste half of Earth's tiles on Stadiums and other happiness enhancers and the approval just switches between 59% and 60% the entire game. Is there something that I am just not getting about how the planet approval is supposed to work?
Thanks a lot for those tips. I'll try it out when I play again.
Hello, I've been playing this game for about a week now. I really enjoy it a lot too. One thing I was wondering though is - Is it just me or are the starbases WAY too easy to destroy? I spent all this time in my last game research fortifications, got my starbases maxed out with all of the level V defenses and offenses. Then the computer brings in 4 frigates and wham all of that hard work goes poof. Isn't this a little unbalanced? I spend an hour building c
