I have a race I'm working on right now for a mod, which goes by the name of the Ashevan Commonwealth, and their homeworld's name is Iyto. They're an intelligent but xenophobic race which only recently emerged from hiding.

Here are some links you can look at eqfan592. They have some information on the global cooling which I talked about. The first one is particularly good. http://leatherheadblog.com/2008/12/05/top-10-global-warming-myths/ http://acuf.org/issues/issue62/060624cul.asp <a href="http://www.isthereglobalcoo
Temporary, yes. But, considering the amount of water on earth, it isn't going to go anywhere anytime soon. I never said that CO2 has no greenhouse effect - it does, and denying it would be stupid, as you point out so kindly. I also never said that coal burning doesn't cause pollution or that pollution isn't dangerous. What I said was that the water in our atmosphere will make it virtually impossible for additional CO2 to raise the temperature. Pointing o
Wow, awesome! I have to ask though, what does industrial pollution and global warming have to do with cosmic rays and whatnot from outside our solar system cooking us? Is it global warming or a cosmic microwave? Seems to conflict with itself in that way. Also, I would like to point out that the earth's most prominent greenhouse gas is water. What this means is that as the earth gets hotter, more water will evaporate and form more cloud cover, reduci
I've never BSOD'd in Vista and I don't think I ever did in XP either but when I had(shudder) ME, it was a daily occurrence.
Oh, yeah. I have never had a problem with XP, but ME... man. I heard that Bill Gates himself said that that was the worst OS that Microsoft had ever made. My parents had Vista for awhile, but went back to XP because the Vista media center program was considerably less user-friendly (you co
I also would like to see the morale formula tweaked to allow much higher population levels. For instance, the Thalan's Hyperion Matrix essentially ruins a planet if it is built on a farm tile - why can't a planet have 42 billion people living on it? Besides the obvious, I mean. I would really like to be able to have super-populated planets if I so chose. You would have to keep an eye out for the Torians and Krynn though. Also, it would be coo
I actually read all of that, and my opinion is that I liked the wording of the original Gamer's Bill of Rights considerably more. It is nice to see a little clarification on Stardock's stance on DRM too though, and I recently have been realizing just how big Stardock has become in just 15 years. You must be proud, eh Brad? My last thought was that you must really want a Java programmer.
The standards of internet speed went up really fast since a few years ago. I have a 1500 Mbps connection and people call it slow
I think you're mistaken about your connection speed. Even T3 internet connections only run about 45 Mbps.
Paint will not save anything transparent, except maybe a *.gif. Don't quote me on that though, I even when I used to use Paint I never saved anything as *.gif.
According to ABC News, the day after we all bailed out AIG, its board all went on a $500,000 trip to a resort and played golf. I suppose I don't need to say who paid the bill.
What I think would be really neat is if you made it so that we could have a custom race use its own heightmaps for every planet. For example, an entirely aquatic race could use a color-inverted set of heightmaps so that all of their buildings are built in water. So yeah, I would love to be able to define race-specific changes to the game like this. Make it so that I could, say, change the Initial Colonies and Civilization Capitals to lower their food production to make a l
Waste of a point? You're just unlucky. I always take Creativity, it is quite powerful (or even a necessity - stupid Thalans).
Yeah, the Tesla Roadster does indeed rock. I might add that it's approprately named too - Nikola Tesla did work almost exclusively with electricity. He and Thomas Edison were almost equally famous (they both lived during the same time), but of course, people only remember one of them.
Haha, time for me to upgrade. I guess I'm the only poor sucker still using a CRT, eh? Yeah, I'm using a 19", standard 5:4 ratio Dell CRT from back when they still made off-white monitors. It's running a whopping 1280 x 1024 resolution at the moment.
Interesting, I had a class 42 from the Dread Lords once. Unfortunately I wasn't playing as a race with any of those Biosphere Modulator/Weather Control techs, so 42 was as good as it got. I forget what I did with it though...
We should all get Beta Tester medals for this! [e digicons][/e] Although I'm sure the beta alone is worth uninstalling and reinstalling. I just wish that my fiber optics was more than 650 kilobits/sec so I could see it sooner. But then again, the extra speed isn't worth doubling the monthly service fee for it.
But you won't recreate the big bang, ever. You may disagree, but you can't get something from nothing - that's the First Law of Thermodynamics. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, and by extension, neither can matter.
Yeah that can't happen, no worries yet. I had also heard what was stated eariler, that the machine broke down within a week of its opening. Actually, I don't think it was ever truly working properly to begin with, they just didn't notice it until it had been running for awhile.
You could always add an extra week to your expected release date, so that you're never late, but occasionally early. It would only be a PR trick, but hey - we'd all be happy!
So, it's Wednesday - I guess you had a major problem? Maybe someone stole those focusing crystals and laser fuses that you pulled out of your Precursor Rangers and built their own Doom Ray, then nuked Plymouth Michigan with it. You really should keep tighter security around those things J'nan, I mean, they might steal the whole thing next time, Corinthian Leather (TM) interior and all! Can you imagine what they would do with one of those?
I believe it does require DA.
Yeah that pirate mega event is nasty, but I've never had it where they were that powerful. The best pirate fleet I've seen was one with off-scale missile defense and I think 800 missile attack, along with 500 total HP or so and a speed of 7 (I think it was five ships). As for how to deal with them, well... I'm not sure. Perhaps you should let your military temporarily die and hope they move on before your neighbors get greedy.
Maybe you could add a #11: Gamers shall not be forced to configure their routers to play an online game!
Someone mentioned putting in an offset slider for ship building earlier, which has given me a thought: make sliders that can adjust where a piece attaches to a hardpoint. If you notice, several pieces and even the hulls themselves don't always have the hardpoints in the exact same spot of both sides, and so buidling perfectly symmetrical ships is often difficult. Another reason is that several pieces, such as the double-tentacle thing, have a slightly offset hardpoint that ends up making mirr
