I agree, the Krynn have the perfect influence and balance over my play style, I even name my ships in roleplaying. Its truly a blast playing as them!
Hey guys, just wanted to say fantastic job on the Krynn. They seem to have the most unique playstyle that I've seen yet, with all their crazy influence and moral boosting abilities, not to mention being able to shut down entire planets with their spy network. I've managed two games with them (on normal/painful) and each one was a total blast.
100000% Agree!
I am still kind of holding out that the Iconians
Odd, Ive played 4-5 TA games as the Krynn... ( I love them!). Definitely hope that bug gets fixed b/c I wouldn't want to be stuck with it!
Star Eruptor Solar Eruptor Couple random ideas...
Either of these are good, I prefer the first one but not by much. Good suggestions! Also we could just go with Star Destroyer
New Bugs in that I got in Gal Civ2 1. I now have a new problem, my space stations before I construct them dont show in the view window so you can see what each one looks like. its just the space background with no station visible, the station is visible on the game itself just not in the Construction window. 2.I also am having a hard time getting my fleets to set a point long range. like I can get them to move like 1 or 2 weeks/ps but even if they have like
yes again humans had ulimate invulnerbility, and korath had hyperwarp 3. this "bug" has been around since B2, I thought it would be squashed by now...Its not just limited to engines either. Races will have random techs that noone should have so early, or something that isnt linked up .. ie. Advanced radioactice world colonizaion, when noone including myself ahs the regular one...
Is it just me, or are the Iconians frustratingly hard to play on Large and above galaxies? I either sacrifice my economy to get lots of colonies, and then promptly get invaded by other races cause i can't research anything in debt. Or i manage to somehow keep researching stuff, while running my production at 20-40% at most all the time. Even with economic & trade bonuses applied, i never can produce enough cash to keep my empire running at over 50% production with max
SD corvettes are utterly useless, I decommission them immediately for money... meat shielding provides enemy sips with more XP.
Square root 36 = 6 =6 defence mass drivers your 10 mass driver weapons >6 damage 40% of the time, other 60% attack is lower then defence? I'm aware of the math. Thats not the behaviour I was seeing. Volley after volley outright missed. There was a bug a while back where the defenses barely degraded when hit by a series of off-type weapons. I was under the impression it was fixed, but I'm not sure.
Beyond the sword is a much more important exp pack than warlords.
I sorry to say your analogy is flawed by its own strengths Have you seen the AA/Anti Missile batteries on a Aircraft Carrier? So what? An aircraft carrier has less defenses than a frigate or destroyer. It's an offensive weapon. An unescorted carrier is a sitting duck, that's why the bulk of the remainder of the navy is devoted to protecting them one way
Ive noticed this too, everyone had ultimate invulnerability within 20 turns of start. definitely a bug somewhere.
I sorry to say your analogy is flawed by its own strengths Have you seen the AA/Anti Missile batteries on a Aircraft Carrier? 1000 rounds per second and phalanx guns, even on WW2 ships they had aa batteries. Aircraft carriers are not sitting ducks, that would be stupid as someone can just suicide a fighter and launch all 4-6 missiles, and there goes billions and billions of dollars. It's all about who has the

And it is NOT easy to take out a Aircraft Carrier... for both my reason and the fact th
TerrorStars should be allowed to equip weaponry. It is ridiculous, that something so massive would not have its own weapon systems. They don't need to be nightmare torpedoes, but allow some defenses or something. Maybe make 2 new techs that branch from TerrorStar tree, and make them very costly to research 1st branch > Basic Weapons/Defenses 2nd branch >improved propulsion Right now Terrorstars, while very cool, are very useless in larger games.
Yay! I can finally make ships that look like they have rotating sections for artificial gravity!
Watch Babylon 5 much? :)
Thanks for the advice everyone, please feel free to keep adding or discussing the AI.
Hello everyone, I'm recently running into some problems in my games. I often find myself being powerful (top3 in military), however I find that everyone wants to goto war (and does)with me, and will not be persuaded otherwise. Example, I was playing on a large map, and I had 3 or 4 civ's declare war on me. I attempted to gift 15 planets to each of them for peace (just to see what it would take), and they would not take it. Shortly after it ends up being a gangbang, and even t
I think they need to buff the warp fleet bubbles if they are goin to be researched sequentially. The first 2 are pretty useless in terms of cost per speed. I think they should make the first 2 cheaper in size/price and leave the 3rd as it is, or bump te speed of all of them up by 1.
I also feel mislead by the promises of the Yor in regards to morale.
when you get to the discovery sphere, the extra building that is supposed to grant an extra 50% does not do anything, the name excapes me now...
yes, I would like them to use the powerful warships i gift them effectively, and a general ai update is sorely needed!
The ship tiling bu is still present , despite saying it was fixed ( I filed this report in 2a as well). basically ... fleet of 3 ships... 1 is destroyed, the thumbnail still shows 3 ships, while there is only 2 (and the number says 2). Unfleeting and refleeting works fine, its just that it is not updating.
I actually play GalCiv (including Dark Avatar) on a 1.6mhz
I play on my Tiger Handheld. Changing camera angles is a bit hard.
Hrm, I never checked for sure but any time I went to create new ships (usually after having done some research) with any race warp bubbles were available. If I'm reading the change log correctly, it looks like you said you just fixed a Terran bug. I've been able to put warp bubbles on Yor, Arcean and Torean ships from pretty early on. Maybe it's attached to a semi-early tree tech that I'm just not seeing, but I usually read what each tech will give me fairly thorou
