I saw the reduced maintainance for ships in orbit suggestion on another thread, and I liked it. I dont recall the distance from a star/planet/starbase on the other thread, but is a good idea. Another add on to this could be a "fleet discount" modifier. Ships in fleets are relativly close together, theoretically it would require less resources to supply them all than if they were seperate ships. Guess the Zeus relies on offensive power to knock out the opposition before the opposition does the same. Lets face it, with 42 missile attack, it can pretty much take out any opposition, regardless of their defense value.

What race were you playing? I had a complete economic breakdown when I was the Arceans on a small or medium map because they dont start with any market-type buildings and I didnt go for economic research until it was pretty clear I was going to need it.
