I usually played with the altarian res or terran. then I usually would take Diplo techs early and try what you suggested. With the new patch it seems way harder to trade techs but i can still get some. My economy is usually very strong I hardly ever fall into the red. I thought maybe this could be a problem that I am being to conservative with the money in the early game. Thanks for all of your suggestions. More are always welcome.

I am a new player to GCII i am playing Da 1.6 I have had the game Gal Civ II DA v1.5 for about three weeks now I played my first game on easy since i had never played any GalCiv game before. Of course on easy mopped up but got a pretty basic understanding of the game. then I moved up to normal had a little trouble at first then started winning consistintely minus a couple bad games. I recently bought GalCivII gold edition from my local fred meyers. when I set up my stardock account I was at work so I did not have my serial number with me. Now from home I want to download updates and such from stardock but it always tells me that I have an invalid serial number. I have tried typing it in every way case sensitive and not. also tried with and without dashes and spaces. Any help is greatly appreciated.
