Greetings, all - You may think I'm a little slow here, but I've rummaged through the annals of mods on this site, picking up something attractive here or there, yet never finding the true object of my search: Improvement mods. That is, a mod that would make the little farm, or factory icons (maybe even their tile pictures) look a little different... I've seen others with some interesting ones that've posted screenshots, but I'm lost as to where they got them. If anyone

I was wondering what planetary map/improvements mod Frogboy is using... I've tried to look for something to change the look of improvements, but I haven't found anything so far.
I like the vassal idea. You could earn a huge manufacturing bonus for making them your slaves, or a soldiering bonus. etc (which isn't exactly the same thing but atleast they get to live ). But can you enlightmen me on what an economic and research treaty is? I never figured out what they do in the game. =P
Generally if you have a problem like that, it's just a matter of re-aligning the view so that there isn't another hardpoint hidden behind the one you're trying to place the part on. I know what you're saying. But the only difference is I can place infinite extras on that same hardpoint lol... so unless there's 20,000 hardpoints behind it due to a bad angle, I'm lost. OR, that hardpoint dissapears but no extra appears (except on the wrong hardpoi
There's a STARS.txt for DA in GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Data\English (the only difference from DL being the addition of a 'Kryo' star ). Lol. Yeah, that's the one I replaced with a new STARS.txt containing the other star names... and it still uses the default ones in the original STARS.txt even though its basically a ghost file now aside from the new one.
Incase anyone hasn't noticed.... most of the pictures of the farming districts have the words: "unfinished image" at the bottom. They're in white, and a little difficult to see, BUT THEY'RE THERE. I CANNOT PLAY THIS GAME NOW. I HATE IT. WASTE OF MONEY. XD (please fix it stardock people)
The default has more than that, so that wouldn't really make sense. Everyone sais that star mods won't work unless its 1000, or under, listed names. That's why they come in packs of 1000. That's what I thought atleast. Anyhow, I'm using DA. What do you mean by its copy?
Haha. Way to get all preachy, man. It was a joke, relax.
A science vessel? ... Like in Starcraft? =] SC FTW!
... It honestly sounds like an alliance. The money involved makes it look like paying another civ. to start a war with your enemy. Both these things you can do already... But I like the tribute thing. You should talk to the Stardock guys about it. =P
Lol. I'm not that dense. =P ... I uhh, didn't even notice there WAS any way to place the extras rather than dragging them to the hard points... That's the only way to see how they look first. What I'm saying is when I put one down on said hardpoint, it doesn't show up on that one, but the one symetrically parallel to it on the other side of the ship. That, or not at all. BUT! It shows up on the top-list of parts as if it HAS been placed... Just a glitch, all I'm saying. But only on the
Lol... Go to My Account, where you edit your info... say Stardock Account, type in your stuff, and you can change your account name. Remember to do it on Metaverse in the game so you can log in, because it'll have your old one in there. =P Also, so you can have the cool medals below your posts like me, go to Character Management screen, and click the button that sais Default by your char. (Its darked out for some dumb reason but it works) ^__^
If you haven't downloaded the newest updates yet, you should because I think that will fix the problem. I have the newest update, but I still have the same problem Grice does. That's what I meant when I talked about the Massive size hulls. This ship building system is pretty neat, but doesn't work all that great... for example, creating and applying a custom ship style is a f***ing mystery to me. After I actually manage do it to a comp, it goes back to d
In preparation for an invasion of the Drengin I've posted spys on 3 of their economic capitals(guess they got them frm conquored civs) and their tech capital Wait, wait... it MATTERS where you place spies???
I like peace-loving species. Especially when they kick the **** out of evil ones. =] And plus, I don't know why, but I'm horrible at the game when not playing Torian... Its strange, so I'd count them as my top favorite. The Thalan are second for me, because I always thought insectoids were cool. Like some mega-evolved super ants. Ants ftw. The Korx, too, are cool and the only evil race I like. L
I try to make a habit of 'being right'. Hahaha. Amen, brother.
Actually, I'd like to know the same thing... I have over 2000 star names, replaced the original files, even put the file in the Metaverse/English folder, but no luck. Still the same old names. I think that may be because the game will only accept a file with 1,000 names. Or so I've heard... I'm not going to count all my names but the mod sais its 1,000 count.
Unless its programmed to.
... Yes. I also, am a loser. But look at my profile though. I'm also SEXEH.
... Uh. More than two, with the help of the Drengin. I think that's in the first two missions, bro. You should change your screen name.
... What if they made a better definition of it, and it turned out to be: Creativity - To keep idiots wondering.
Eh... This is honestly a filler game until Spore or Starcraft 2 come out. Not to worry, though, 10 millenia to go. ((For those of you who don't know, Spore is just like this... except... 100,000,000 times better. Eh. Google it, won't hurt.)) =P But, oh yeah. I like DA better.
Ignorance of the law is a crime!! ... But, I'm sure he didn't know that.
Hello. Personally, I HATE the default Galciv star names. "Skowbo" and "Kwilas" come in almost every game, and beside them being dumb*** names in my opinion, they get really repetitive. I've downloaded some star name packs, randomized them, etc., and replaced the STARS.txt file in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\English. The game, nevertheless, used the default star names still... I then even took out the STARS.bak file, so it couldn't POSSIBLY remember any of
I've experienced this before. For example, when you add an engine anywhere near the fake prop engine of the ship, the (yellow, blue, red, whatever color) layer dissapears and it just looks like a hole... Also, with the "massive" size Torian hulls, putting parts on one side of the ship appear on the other, or invisible. =\
