Not sure what difficulty setting your playing on but I play on tough and have no problem getting extreme planets colonized first in my area for the most part. Instead I don't focus on that 1 tech that some races have and deem far to valueable to trade like aquatic world colonization or barren world colonization in the begining of a game. Instead trade for al the other techs so you don't have to research as much other stuff, push a few engines and then extreme colonization depending which extr

I find it funny how you don't list whats broken. I find the game working in good order and not broken. Sure a few things need tweaking and yah you get the occasional crash like any game could since a game isn't so easy to have perfect since evry video card and driver is changing every 6 months. Now we all could agree on a few tweaks and a couple other things but those don't make the game actually broken. Stuff like the AI could be better or how sometimes the game seems
I have to second what LtJim said, He covered it very nicely. I tend to try and stick my planets to only 1 farm (besides home capitols which are at 16 billion. That 1 farm will never be on a farm tile and keep pop between 10-12 billion being 12 billion max. Course you can tweak bit by bit if a planet has a couple moral tiles you could get away with a tad more but 14 billion seems to me where it heads downhill.
Some countries all thats available is pirated versions and its considered the norm. I'm American currently living in the Philippines and over here all there is is pirated games and such. Go to the big Malls and you find stores everywhere with pirated games, movies, everything. I couldn't even find a legal non pirated PC game store in the bigger sized city I live and happened to go to the #2 city and found 1 store that sold only legal copies. Talked to the owner and he said he had alot of prob
I've had some issues as well with the AI not playing fair really but in the end there are so many things it lacks that can hurt it also. I generally play on Challenging or Tough and find I suck at military strength for awhile and I ignore it but my tech stays ahead and my colonies matchany other strong colonizing race if not out colonize them. Finally when have my empire semi sorted as having "this is my area, stay out!" sign I get a few defenders knocked out to get up on military strength an
You need to use a shortcut to the specific expansion your using... put that shortcut on your desktop. Right click the shortcut and click properties. On the target line at the end it should read CHEAT so add that part. In the end the target line should read like **** "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe" CHEAT ****
I hate that max speed fo 5 parsecs mega event as I tend to a later stages like building big ships with alot of engines to get around and terrorize enemies very quickly
Least we could have a counter for Jagged Knife take overs like a counter espionage building doing the trick against them also or influence starbases and planetary approval ratings above 90% or something. Just to much of an annoyance to have all of a sudden half or more of your worlds owned by the JK and not a darned thing you can do about it or to have prevented it. Also it seems to be far more unfair to the player since now I've been hit a few times and each time I los
I again tested with another method of starting a new game on imense, 4 races, 8 minors and after 10 turns I started to save and then use the reveal map cheat and look at all other ships and routes, then reload and go another 5-10 turns and do it again. Still seems to be the AI knows just were resources and habitable planets are w/o scouting. Often I find no scouts even at this time besides the initial miner and flagship and since if the races are close eventually seems to be a flagship race f
I ran a test on resources myself and it sees a bit spotty but I'd start off in a corner with a resource next to me and left it unclaimed for the test. I did my normal routine which was a colony rush followed along with economy starbases along with a couple scouts and survey ships. Made sure to have my area 3 squares of my HW and the resource open and being watched and eventually a constructor comes rolling in right at it. I will mention though I do tend to agree with th
Hey all, looking for some advice on how best to manage my economy with my prefered strat. I like playing gigantic maps as a super breeder and like start off with a heavy colony rush. I start off first couple turns purchasing a research lab and factory and an econ building soon as I can(build that) (generally aim for a starting planet with a 300% research bonus tile). However problem I run into is high debt with new rushed colonies that have nothing on them or on occasion a moral/economy build
I've been trying to watch this for awhile and it seems to me that the AI doesn't have a hidden map at all. I've repeatedly seen the AI send constructors directly to remote parts of the map near in planets of mine where I'm fairly positive the AI has never been before. Seems as if the AI knows where everything is and doesn't actually have to reveal the map to find anything. I've had right near my homeworld an influence resource that was uncovered all around it for quite a ways but a tiny patch
Generally issues like your describing are not game related but graphics card relatd. Occasionally a bad driver where reinstalling or using an older driver might correct. However often its the video card itself having some minor malfunctions and basically going bad. I'd think likely its the card itself so maybe get a new video card as white outs along with graphical boxoutlines are either the game engine, the video card driver, or the card itself. However the GC2 game engine is fairly solid ot
I just don't see a point for Mil SBs in TA. Sure the bonus's can add up to a crapload but after that sector has become a safezone and the enemy is tossed out least for me they tend to leave it alone. And since those big bonus's are gone soon as the ships leave the area no point. Useful for just draining some enemy ships but easier imo to do that with a ship build thats built with their weapons/def in mind. One game I built 5 ringing my perimeter thinking could soak up e
What tech tree are you using? That may be the problem because some tech trees simply fall behind early in the game like Thalan tech tree. With Thalans is where I often have that sort of problem because they have no industry or research normal buildings for awhile and the first ones are very nice bonus's but very high cost and newer vesions just lower cost. Imo Thalan and a couple tech trees require you to trade/steal/buy other techs as a stand in. Thalans are just very slow starters other the
Wondering if theres something I'm missing or what. I sometimes can't even create or delete a planetary Govenor. Also I try and create a second one for instance I want a basic setup so I create a Basic govenor and set it up (when it works). Then try creating a research, manufacturing, and economy Govenors but it won't let me add anything to new govenors I create where they are all blank for buildings. Is this a bug or am I missing the obvious or just some detail I don't
I still can't use the planetary govs most of the time even with the update. Sometimes I can make one and assign buildings to build but most of the time it won't add anything to the empty queue of a new planetary gov even when I never had a planetary gov in that specific game before. Not sure what the problem is but pissing me off.
Would like to know what the "+ Misc other updates and fixes" specifically are. Also tbh I've always been a supporter of get the expansions to get the latest updates besides of course game breaking bugs heh like crashes and freezes.
Ohh I generally have all the techs they do as until I start war mongering they sell/trade the techs fairly easily. Only ones sometimes an issue is racial specific techs were sometimes they aren't so quick to sell/trade those off to early. Just so many planets not built up or in really crappy state. The game I finished last night the korath and I were about equal in the share of the galaxy at start but I had better ships, swept in with troops after my fast fleets killed off defenders and their
I have this same issue all the time. Seems every game a few planets generally those not near the core of the AI's empire. Sometimes it ends up being half the worlds of any given empire including high quality planets. Also find so often the AI builds on wrong tiles. Also find that those Drengin (think its them) always seem to have on their worlds building like 3 arena's of agony (or whatever buildingit is that gives like 15% moral).
Pissed me off also. Was playing an imense map (think that was just un der the largest map) map and had some 90 worlds and controlled maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of the universe. JK came in and took 48 of my planets and another 40 combined from the other empires. More then half they took was from ME. Pissed me off. Anywho just traded a bit for a few techs they aquired (I had higher tech then any other empire by a fair bit being a research monger), then just left my defenders sitting outside the world inc
Thanks Corlanis. I've gotten so tired of aquiring new worlds through war and finding either the enemy had no buildings besides a starport.... they get destroyed... or unusable. Generally makes most planets I aquire have almost nothing on it except a few crap buildings in the build queue or just that crap buildings compaed to mine.
Thanks for the helpful tips. My moral issue is indeed I think from to big of a population when I figured the buggers where whining no more room and wanted more population room. My bad moral planets all have farms and most of them built on farm tiles. I started out with Masters of Orion 1, 2, and 3 which are similiar games before I moved to GC and then GC2+ and in MoO the bigger the pop the better especially on high quality worlds. Will now fix that issue. Far as the Gov
I've been having a horrible time keeping up moral on a few specific planets. Namely though my homeworld. I've been playing a custom race with Iconian tech tree and the 30% moral boost. I'll build a Dream Conclave (25% Morale boost) on my homeworld eventually but still while the majority of my worlds at the medium stage of the game will be around 75-85% moral with a few tipping in the yellow and a few close to 100% my homeworld dips in the red at low 40's and 2 dream conclaves seem to only get
Hey all, Wondering if anyone has a strat suggestion for quickly colonizing a few planets along with high research? Thinking like the all labs thing but leaves it a bit rough getting more then 2 more planets quickly until econ starts to balance and can push both. Also whats the build strat on all labs strat? just 100% labs besides your initial startup? Do you continue on first and 2nd colonized worlds with alot more labs or just let those sit until
