I'm playing a normal game of DL, and since I resumed playing today the game has consistently jumped to the next turn while I was in the middle of my present one. I'm running the World of Warcraft download client which will be up til late tonight, and it happens to be subtly writing to disk while it works, that's why I specifically chose to play GC2 though, because it's not overly demanding. Nevermind, I found the prefs file hidden away in that obscure "My Games" folder, who's idea was that? :p It doesn't really work anyway, since fonts don't fit on buttons anymore and such.

I'm trying to run the game in windowed mode, at 800x600 under my 1024x768 desktop resolution, but the only options in game are 1024x768, and "custom resolution". I don't understand the file structure of the game (gold edition) otherwise I'd dig in and edit some .ini's or something, is there anything I can do to unlock the rest?

My first game was easy/small. I played worse than your (Topic Creator) explanation shows you played, and I absolutely decimated the map - culturally. Easy is definitely there for a reason, especially in a game where the AI is renowned for actually trying to beat you. That's a needless distraction when you don't even know what you're doing yet.
