Hiya. been quite a while since I last checked the galciv forum or even played the game. But recently - for whatever reason - I installed the game again and might play one or another game again. Used to be fun. Couldn't believe it was 2007 when I played the game actively....how time flies. OMG. All the splendid evilness that once was....the good ol'times of slave whipping and stuff. I'd like to directly comandeer every single one of my 5 billion soldiers. I want to set up ranks, tactical orders, want to be able to give every single soldier a certain weapon. I want to control the type of descend through the athmosphere, want to set landing points and places and types of inhabitants to attack first. all of the above according to the situation. There are 2 main rules I try to follow: - grab those Minor-race-planets asap (or at least all that are somewhat nearby) and ignore the diplo penalty - I make friends with 1 race, usually the Drengin as I tend to play evil and they make great "cleaners" and are cheap to bribe into wars. Those will get the honour of being the last to die. Rest are fair game and I will use whatever means necessary to conquer them.

I second this! It's bad for the AIs though as I didnt bother placing spies on their worlds anymore before. Now they can again wave /bye bye to their best tiles....

thanks, that helped a lot. Much less annoying now. I almost felt back to the glorious times of the 286/386 when turns in games could take literally several minutes to process.
