im running 1.5 DA out of the box. Whats the current version? -As an aside, it would be better if they put a direct url for update downloads instead of a second program altogether, but thats just MO.
somethingplaid
all three times the ranger showed up was a time when nobody had anywhere near the tech to best it. in one game I had two, and was able to rampage at will with single rangers going wherever they pleased...
On that I would agree. I would have no problem with a message box saying "because the alterians are at war, they drag you along too. you have declared war on the terrans" or whatever. at least it would make sense. right now it just looks like a bug
I have the option unchecked for mega events... I Don't want "game destabilizing" events while im still learning the game... isnt the event where a race discovers a ranger (many many levels above everyone else), or better yet, the one where a race discovers an artifact that slowly makes them stronger, forcing you to try to get everyone to declare war on them, um, game destabilizing?
lol Mumblefratz! Sure thing, ill zip up the save game... it seems that the game changes when you reload from an autosave (up to 12 turns out), so when ive had it happen and reloaded, it didnt happen again despite me not doing anything appreciably different until much later on. oh well. thanks for the assist, in the meantime ill just make myself neutral so it doesn't (less likely?) to happen.
OK. Let me put it this way. I have a trade agreement with say, the korath. The Altarians declare war on the korath. Since im "good" too, I'm asked to go to war. but I dont,so I say no. I realize I should have these ships here and those planets there and trade routes doing that other thing, but the point is I said no to war in the first place. Why am I being forced to say yes when I clearly said no? Im thinking this is a bug, otherwise why give me the option?
OK, this has happened three times in a row now, so I need help. I have a custom Civ. I have no alliances or economic/research agreements with the Altarians. I havent researchd ethics yet, but because of my decisions im leaning towards good on the scale. The Altarians pick a fight/get picked on by some other race. War between the Altarians and this other race ensues. Now heres the part that sucks: The Altarians come to be for help, they want me to declare war on their enemy.
