m3nt0ras, if your argument is true, then i have a question for SE 5 developer Aaron, why make SE 5 so complex if the AI can't be make robust. He will probably admit that he wishes the player to have more options, even though the AI is weak compare to Galciv 2. Then that is a design choice. It is not a fault of Galciv 2's developer for having a lack of depth or Aaron's choice for having more depth but end up with a weak AI. There is one thing that Galciv 2 does right in terms of simpli
to say that the the AI in galciv 2 is better than SE 5 due to the fact that in Galciv 2, the AI only makes limiting choice where as the AI in SE 5 can not be as good as Galciv 2 because SE 5's AI have to make more in choices per turn is just a silly comparison and argument all together. Take a look at computer chess, an AI in computer chess has very limiting choice because that is the rule of the game, but it took a long time before the computer chess AI evolving to its current state. My opinion: Galciv II Pros: -More polished product -Better Gfx -Much Better AI Cons: No multiplayer(mp means much for me) -Not so complex as it seems at first glance. -No tactical combat,or even a single tactical decision in combat(for example: target priority, fleet fire distribution etc.) -The ship customization it's just minimal except for an eye-candy point of view.
So, what you're saying is that they shouldn't offer preorders.
No, i am just saying that you have to be able to do what you advertise and getting funds of,i wouldn't have a complaint if they advertised in august preorder with the open beta system and open release date.I am not tolerant to pushing back release date again and again especially when i have paid for full content an advertised period of time.
The game is great, the company is great,i like the game being complete when released, BUT there is a big difference in making preorder available in august with release date in november then moving it in christmas, then on the grounds of a poll in january, then to add more content in end of march, and then not be able to answer the question with certainty about the release date.Someone paying in August and promised to have full content in November is surely pissed off,and don't tell me about the ma
To Gormoth1: First of all, clearly you don't have a good idea of the game creation process,if you did you would be able to know how hard is to make a game that gets even a mini positive preview and some good word from a gaming site and can impress gamers(like those game reviewers that had played 100's of "professional" games).Try to make games, and then put ALL the Indie scene in dime a dozen category. Second, Space Empires is an AAA+ 4x class game, withing it's complexity came
I would really like a slower tech speed option like extremely slow(like 1/10 * very slow).
I agree 100% with you. But i also believe that even more dangerous are people that will re-elect/help and appraise any of this human garbage as "saviors" or whatever,i believe all this years that the conspiracy theories and such are a little paranoid and that most people ARE smart but careless but i begun having some second thoughts later,i know that some people simply *don't care* and trying to live their lives but they are shortsighted because living you life involves having a place to do
The best way to implement carriers, would be to simply make them a means to carry ships beyond their normal range. A carrier would have lots of life support and engines. The fighters would have minimal life support and engines, so they can have more weapons are armor. By hopping on the carrier, they would be able to go beyond their normal range, and at higher than normal speeds and carriers would have a range bubble, in which t
I think it's because the race that first developed it, has the monopoly of trading it,as the informative window says in-game.
--More complex battle system Evasion factors(granted by pilot experience and hull size) Targeting Advantage factors(granted by pilot experience) Carrier ships Battle starbases who can attack the enemy ships at will Superweapons More complex ground combat ***Better defense system*** --Better diplomacy/options Like setting a tax percentage on weak races planets or else X happens to them(like a keep peace treaty <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL
Have a 4th unique type of defense, this defense would be called "evasion" and can only be granted by ship size and experience and its applicable against all weapon types. for example starting with hull sizes could be: tiny 1 small 0 medium 0 large 0 huge 0 example: evasion = [hull evasion factor] + floor(level/10) and remove the hit-points increase from leveling,an experienced pilot can avoid attacks easier rather absorb more da
Things i would like to see: --Large and huge ships acting as carriers-- Make an appropriate module that can "hold" some tiny hulled ships, without consuming fleet logistics for them (or add a factor to it).It would be ultra cool to have a carrier moving tiny ship swarms to battle(protoss anyone? ).This can have many advantages, like tiny ships need no extra engines, can be repaired faster
So, everything was set and clear today, my order was completed all fine and i received everything, apparently it was a problem of the card company. Thanks much for your support Stardock and my apologies if i was too harsh at my original post
But with support i mean i sent mail to sorry about being confusing on this
This is just riduculus, i tried to purchase Galciv2:gold edition with my prepaid visa electron and after filling all personal and payment information,on the final checkout i got a message of "can not accept your order" and an order code(nothing else on the screen) i thought it was about the order system not accepting prepaid electron visa,i sent an email about how can this be solved, and waiting, but later I MADE A CHECK ON THE REMAINING MONEY IN MY PREPAID CARD,and guess what... i was charged the
