Btw, I never understood the planet quality bonus. What does it do, increase the number of the planet? Does it has anything to do with the bonus? Also, if you use a diferent way of invasion on a planet, there is a significant chance of the planet quality drop. What exactly does that means?

I guess its just luck. Sometimes I start a game and there are many in my planet, while other times there are none. I wonder if that Lucky atribute has something to do with it.
The evil vs good theme, in my opinion, is how the OTHER RACES VIEW YOU. You see, it may not be evil to kill a creature that is swimmin around in your beaches, if you´re afraid they may be a danger to your people. But if this species has a conscience, and you decide to kill it anyway, what is the message you send to the other alien species? Good and evil is all about relativity. No one is truly good or evil. Its all about perceptions. And the way the game is done is so that the
I trade as much as I can. My worlds usually have only one or two economic boosting ressources. I also make sure all my star bases have the trade modules. To maintain a good trade, you just need to find a good aliance partner and that gallactic privateer.
Dont use them very often, they take a lot of time to become useful.
Torian (weak): For me, the Torian always fail miserably. They die quite fast, usually being the first civ conquered. I was surprised they atacked me the last game, and thought things could change, but they didnt put on a fight, and surrendered quite quickly. Yes, these guys surrender a lot, and fast. They just dont hold it together. Altarian (Strong): But the Altarian Resistant, yes, these guys fight. Even with just 3 or 4 planets, they really hold it, and manage to grow and become stro
You can get them by trading. The Altarian resistance usually research a lot in the first months, and they usually get them. Maybe you will have to trade your pants for them, but its possible to do it. I recomend getting the tech anyway, because after you´ve colonized the important planets, you can exchange the tech with the other civs, and they wont be able to use it because you´ve colonized all the planets already.
I usually finish a game in about 4 years (game time). And I think the military aproach gives you more points because it takes quite a lot of time. Diplomatic and influence games can finish quite quickly.
My idea is simple: wars shouldnt last much. Dont get into wars easily. Sun Tsu said it 2500 years ago. Wars cost a lot, both to your economy and to your population. If it drags too much, you will lose as much as the enemy. That means you have to win with as much strengh as you can, and quickly. Build a lot of strengh close to the borders, and when you think you´re ready, strike the enemy capital. Its all about the planets. Ships are useless. What you need is to take care of the
Intellekt post was very interesting, and really proved that everyone has a diferent strategy. The great thing about this game is that there really are a lot of winning options. Its not like Civilization, where the main option is the conquest one, and diplomacy, technology and everything else is secondary. I´ve finished most of my games before even reaching half of the weapons techs. I barely fight other civilizations, unless its the Dregin, which you just dont have a choice.<br
I like the events. They add a random event to the game. Otherwise it would be way too boring. I never got the pirate event, but I guess that is because every single time there is a war going on. I did get the Knife and the one where some peace dudes claim some planets. The only pirates I´ve seen are the ships left when a civilization gets destroyed.
Well, I´m not a big expert on this game, and I´ve playing for a week now. Yet, even in the inteligent option on all oponents, I never had problem with combat. As far as I know, a good offense is far better than a good defence. Every single one of my ships has at least 3 times the offense numbers than their defence numbers. So, I do recomend you change all your ship settings to better offense and less defence values. I think that if you get two similar ships, o
Ok, thanks, Ill try that.
Spanish or portuguese. Where do I change it? Inside the game, or outside it? In the instalation I found no options.
I´ve got a standart copy of the game, yet I´ve heard that there is some copies that have diferent languages to them. I´ve seen that there is even a russian version of the game. Considering all the text in the game, it would be great to get a pack to my own language. Anyone knows if they are avaiable, or they are hardcoded into the entire game, and you cant change it?
