Hehe Thanks Kryo, and thanks Todd for trying. I plan to update it soon, I usually play on the home PC, not the laptop, so I haven't bothered yet.

After wading through most of the posts and even though I'm pretty new to the game, I would say that I agree with the majority who want improved diplomatic options. A few examples have been mentioned - threats, varying kinds of alliances, etc. One thing I think would be interesting - after a "full" alliance is made, the more powerful ally can point research in whatever direction it feels best. In other words, something where you could gift a tech to an ally, say Singularity Driver 4, e
Just need a little clarification on a couple things: 1. If I trade a trade good, do I lose the bonus or do I get the bonus AND the race I trade it to gets the bonus also? 2. Can I eventually cancel a trade after I trade a trade good and get the bonus back (assuming I lose it in the first place)? 3. If I invade a planet using a "harsh" invasion tactic, e.g. mass drivers, and fail in my attempt to invade, does the planet still suffer the damage of the mass driver? 4. Is the Na
I also read you can load up 1-hp cargo hulls with weaponry to artifically inflate your military score / get other civ's off your back. I hope this one isn't true as I consider that purrrrty cheesie. Of course, in WWII we used to make mock planes, ships, or equipment to fool the enemy and tie up their resources, so maybe it's not as cheesy as I think. That might be a cheese tactic against an AI, but in WW2 we also
Without the superior graphics and performance that a PC can give, gamers will have no incentive to use the much more expensive PC, and instead, migrate to the console. This is what Dx10 is really all about- Microsoft increasing market share, nothing else. True or not, it's not going to happen. PC's have been relatively low in gaming market
Nope - I think since it was the end of the turn, they may have been one move short of the colony ship and it was ready to land. Bad timing, in other words. I went back to the saved game and sent the fighters before I actually saw the colony ship this time, to get there a turn earlier, and this time when I right-clicked on the colony ship I did get the "If you attack this there will be war" warning (and the ensuing war when I went ahead <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.
Thanks for helping this old warhorse out. Time to go bust some skulls, or plates, or exoskeletons....
Well, this is it. I just got GC2, set up a game, everything's gone smoothly for a day or so's worth of turns. My empire's doing fine and of course, the AI's are being stupid since I set the Intelligence level pretty low just to get a feel for the game. Anyway, here's my Uber-Newber question: An AI Civ was about to colonize a world in a system where I'd already colonized one. I had a couple homemade "fighter" type warships in orbit that could intercept it and was willing to start a w
