My top three games to have a sequel would be... Worms SMAC Cossacks
FoxOfDoom
2 boxes Oh, ok. Didn't realize you meant that. My mistake. And my point is +4 speed or a +40% planet quality are pretty powerful traits.
17 ability points (vs the 15 now available), AND allowing them to "double select" (i.e. toggle on 2 selection boxes) in any ability category Not sure if you realize, but 17 points and allowing a player to double select a skill would make them able to have +4 speed bonus or +40% planet quality. I know you said it's your opinion, but just mentioning that incase you missed.
Nice job, going to download this.
Welcome back.
but realistically how does one's cargo become more valuable as you haul it through space? (Lets say a person lived in the U.S.) Why would they prefer water from Poland or Canada when there is water near them? There's an illusion of quality. Oh, i'm not saying that they are of the same quality. I don't know, honestly. But advertising causes people to think that water from a mountain spring is better than ground water. There is also a sense that it can
Is there a way to gather information on an enemy without sabotaging one of their tiles? You can look at their area. If you send "scouts" (No weapons, no troop module) into their area, they will not mind. You will be able to scout out their planets. To see into planets, espionage is the only way.
I name them after spices. The rarer the ship (usually most expensive) the rarer the spice. I name my capital ships Saffron, for example. Staple ships - Staple spices. Colonies - Salt Constructors/Fighters - Pepper Ect... Sometimes I name them after metals and/or minerals. Depends on how I feel.
I like Civ IV. I love all games with alot of modability, allows the game to become popular from modifications as well as the original. Civfanatics.com is a good website for modifications. A new expansion pack is comming out early June, by the way: "Beyond The Sword". I can't make a comparison from Civ II to Civ IV, never playing Civ II. However, i've played Civ III. There are some differences, there are : -Less units, no defense/attack just "strength". You can upgrade units from exp
They could make a big boat
On the other hand ive seen something about an orbital terraformer. what is this? And how do i get one? An orbital terraformer is a galactic wonder, requiring the last tile improvement technology to be researched. It automatically upgrades all planets in your Empire (And any you capture later) to utilize all the usable tiles.
Oh... Really sorry. I just now realized I have been mispelling my name and that's why I havn't been able to figure out how to play Metaverse. I was using Hyphons between the words. Problem solved. As I said, sorry.
I feel rather stupid about this...But I cannot play metaverse (Gold Edition). When I click the Metaverse button I cannot enter this name, the game says it does not exist. I am registered on star-dock and I know I am because I have patched the game. Please tell me how I can register this name to be able to play metaverse for this screenname. *EDIT* Sorry, just noticed this was to activate the game, not problems with registration/metaverse. Help would be enjoyed, however. <img src="
To be honest, I see tiny ships as the most important hull design next to huge and cargo. Tiny ships for me are very efficient once you max out miniturization, seeing as everything takes up less space for tinies than anything else, although I usually do not put engines on my tiny fighters I usually play the Yor with influence bonuses, and with speed technologies they still move faster than enemies in my territory. I like the tiny ships because planets with just 2 factories can still churn them ou
Alright, I registered my Serial Code and I was able to update the game. Thanks for the help.
I am having trouble updating my (Gold version) game. I do the following after the autorun appears: "Update Game"; it takes me to stardock, where I then click Games and Galactic Civilizations is at the top under Purchased Software. I open this and click Dark Avatar and then Update. This takes me to the "Purchase" section of this website. Can some one please tell me what im doing wrong?
Thanks for that information, but is there a way to find out? Whenever I click "update game" it takes me to stardock and says that stardock is updating. Not sure if that is actually updating the game or just stardock.
Question, where do you see what version your game has? Just to make sure it is installed.
I don't remember lower than a class 4 planet Planets can be lowered from invasions and if you "destroy colony" so they can still be in DL. fly their colony ship right by I think they colonize the closest ones first.
Ahem... Emporers: Battle for Dune- A great game, plently of stuff to blow up. 1503 A.D.- A great strategy game. I also like the newer version, 1701 (took me a while to get used to though) Empire Earth - One of my favourites, and one of the first games I got for the computer. Civilization 4 - Alot of choices and freedom in game creation.(Particularly for the moddability) Cossacks: The Art Of War - Fun, I loved the economy system. Although a bit slow and cannons are over powere
A different question: if you use up a stock race's bonus points, will any AIs who use that race ALSO have the selected abilities, or do the points on the stock races reset? I think they use the points you give them. Yep. Thanks.
Do the Altarians still receive the research bonus? I think so. Thats one thing you don't want to do - lose a trade good planet. Then the opponent can sell the trade good to everyone and you cannot get it's benefits to you only any more.
(Sorry if this has been mentioned, took a look and never saw anything relating to this) In Dark Avatar, if a person plays a non-custom race they still get 10 points to use up. I am just curious, but... Do computers automatically use these points, or play without them?
I would have to agree with Belanos that AI do build stupid. For example, when I want a quick "action-packed" game 1v1 with all techs researched on a small map with about 5-6 planets I expect the AI to evaluate its priorities and make factories and economic buildings for ships. But all 3 of it's planets I captured to win the game all had 6,7, and then 10 research labs (on each planet respectively). However, this is in Dread Lords not DA...cannot say much about that.
