Thanks, Kryo. I got the game working after I started a campaign map.

Everytime I attempt to start a game, TA crashes to Vista desktop. Brad said the funniest thing regarding the game ruining people's lives: "Yeah, but you don't have to pay $15 a month for it." Take that, World of Warcraft!

[quote] I am starting to think that we may not make the date we want. I really want to have adequate time to work over the AI. I've learned a lot of new tricks and strategies over the last few months and it's going to take quite a bit of coding to incorporate these ideas into the game. as we said before we want a real good Job done on this not a rush job so if it take more time,.. it takes more time !!! <img id="ImageResize_Image_2" onloa
I voted for a later release. Keep up the hard work, Stardock; it will pay off in January.
The problem with the NDE studies is that the vast majority of them are purely anecdotal and cannot be replicated . I do not doubt that something is happening, but there is no evidence (that can be tested and verified) to support the theory that we are dealing with spirits. However, the link was useful in that it presents a balanced view: namely, citing studies that show a neurological basis. I am afraid the jury is out on NDEs.
I highly recommend Olaf Stapledon's Last and First Men .
Now fit that into the Galciv context and inline with a mod. Most mod's invariably carry over certain themes from the parent idea. So some buildings one might see would be Slave Labour camps, Gas Chambers, human experimental buildings..etc.. If the player is given control of that empire, then yes we are dealing with glorification. If the Nazis are presented as an unplayable race (enemy), then it is not glorification. However, I find
Taking offense at Nazies used for entertainment is both silly and too politically correct. In your opinion. In my opinion having a mod where you play as a all conquering nazi race that has enslaved humanity is glorifying them. No it doesn't. Glorifying the Nazis involves glorifying their past achievements and horrors. Playing space nazis in no way achieves that. That would be like s
Jamius, is this a joke? Are you actively trolling, or do you seriously believe that something glorifying thugs, psychopaths, and mass murderers is acceptable? I don't mean this post as a personal attack, just please think through the ramifications of what you are proposing and the perceptions you create by doing so. I fail to see how placing the Nazis into the game is somehow glorifying them. There are many games that have Nazis in them - from tactical

Sorry, but I find wikipedia to be almost useless. I've encountered numerous errors, as well as odd things (like when I was searching information about Josef Stalin, and typed in his title 'Vozhd', only to find it linked me to a roleplaying monster. When that happens it really makes me question Wiki). Sure it's good to find links, but the mere fact anyone can edit an article places reliability in doubt.
I loved the Iain. M. Banks reference: "Outside Context Problem".
Wilfred Owen, I envy you the ability to trade freely like that--and thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite early 20th Century poets. What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous anger of the guns... Just make sure you don't personally lead any invasions in the last week of a military victory! <IMG id=ImageResize_Image_1 src="http://amcore.kryofx.com/sig/9122/1/10.png" on
This is unheard of in my experience. I've mostly bought software from stores. Once you unwrap the plastic that's the end of any possible return. Most stores will take back unopened software within two weeks with a 25% re-stocking fee. You have no idea of how many crap games I've simply thrown out over the years. I kind of figure the true cost of a decent game is about ten times it's actual value because that's usually how many games I have to buy and throw away before
I have been caught at work several times. The end result is that I've had a few warnings, so I don't check forums much. It's worse because the government department I work for has blocked video game sites and private email, so there's not much I can look at now.
Wow, no offence or anything, but your list is one of the worst best and worst games lists I've ever seen. If i was stuck on a desert island with only those 7 best games to play, I'd be bored out of my mind. You put the total war series on your worst list. There are hundreds of crap games on PC and you choose to put a series that revolutionised the strategy genre. I therefore conclude that you are a total ignoramus. What an arrogant post. E
That was excellent!
But even if his motives aren't so good, he's helping (AFAIK) people who have been SERIOUSLY screwed So was Hilter when he turned things around economcially in Germany in the mid 1930's. That's really an inappropriate and hyperbolic analogy.
... not to double post, but I also wanted to mention that I once had a lot of fun playing as the "Imperium Terrestre." I modified the Terran Alliance to make them more militaristic and pretended they were the Roman Empire which had survived all the way to the 23rd century. I had a great time coming up with Latin names and designations for all the ships. A fighter was "navis stellaris aggressor" and a defender "navis stellaris defensor". Medium ships were "navis ste
