It's already out?!? Darn. I read online that it doesn't come out until the 12th, tomorrow. If I'd read this first I would have bought it when I was out near BestBuy today. I didn't even go in. *hits forehead* Darn, now I have to wait until next weekend to get it when I could have gotten it today. *bummed* I also heard online that someone claiming to work at GameStop said there was a rebate in the box for people who purchased the original already. Is that true? What proof do I need, if i

What I found out was that when you place a planet using the map editor all the planets are associated to one or just a few of the stars. Like 50 planets belong to one star. I had to open the map file in wordpad and go to each planet and tell it what star it belongs to. Then the map should load in GalCivII. You actually don't need to add the homeworlds for all the races. IF you do't add their homeworlds they will be randomly placed when you start the game. I hope this helps.

Had a problem loading maps made with this program. GCII kept crashing when starting a game with the map. Found out that the planets all said they belonged to the wrong stars or only a few stars having all the planets associated to them. I had to open the map in wordpad and and tell them which star they belonged too. Is there any way to do this when I first make the map? So i don't have to go through and change the woring on 78+ planets. Oh and I'm having problems editing maps I made, th

What size is the planet? I wouldn't build farms on small planets.

Thanks. I'll do that. I actually didn't think about that.

Really, I found it quite easy to download and install the drivers. Just like Moostek13 said. And the site is easy to navigate. Just click ont he link for the drivers and put in your system and the graphics card family. The only thing that was bad is I'm on dialup. I used a download manager to resume downloading when I had time. I even download the updated drivers from ATI, for my new card that I'm waiting for. I haven't installed it though... I don't have the card yet.

Yeah those are great features to get not only your serial number online, but the game too, if you loose it. I don't think any other company would email you your serial number back to you. I just think it's odd to have the serial number on the outside of the case and not inside (on any game). Outside it can be rubbed off or destroyed in some way.

You don't need any money to update your video drivers. Just go to their sight and download the new ones, about 42MBs and version 93.71 for XP.

lol. Thank you. I'll have to check to see if the AA is off in the game next time I play. I can't wait for the ATI card. I already downloaded the latest drivers for it (35MBs on dialup). It's been a while since I've had a computer with one of their cards. My last ATI card was an All-In-Wonder. I'm tempted to try to get a new computer with an All-In-Wonder, but I really want my next computer to be a gaming computer. If I go with an ATI card on a new computer I can always get a tv card ad

I ordered the Sapphire Radeon 9550 256MBs AGP today. The guy at the store coldn't order the 9600XT for me. *pout* He said my card will come in in a few days. I'm hoping it comes in by Wednesday, so I can install it on Thursday, but probably not. I can't wait, I'm so excited. What's the AA? I'm probably not going to get a new power supply. I was hoping to get a new computer at the end of next summer, but that is not looking good at the moment. I'm not willing to upgrade anythin

Yeah, my computer is three years old and doesn't have a pci-e slot. Sadly I only have dialup so downloading that isn't an option. I don't think I can wait for a new computer. I just hope I can get a good card.

Th 9600XT? I'll have to ask the place I was going to order it from. I can't order it online myself because I don't have a credit card. I also have to worry about the psu. I don't want to have to connect psu directly to the graphics card. I'm installing it myself.

Thank you for the quick reply. So you could see the textures and everything and it ran decent? I have a 100 dollar limit. Well, I'm not likely to replace my psu. *pout* Well, my system is 3 years old and I haven't upgraded anything so the psu should be fine. I have a dvd drive, cd burner, 6-in-1 card reader and a 120GB HD in addition to the above specs. I'm also running the latest drivers for my GeForce card (forceware 93.71). Does any one have the new Star Trek game?

I'm going to order a new graphics card. I currently have a GeForce4 MX 440 64MBs AGP8x and my ships have no textures. Here are the choices I have, at the price I can afford: ATI 9550 and NVIDIA 5500. Both 256MBs. Which one works better with GalCiv II and the new Star Trek: Legacy (sp?)? Please help me and thank you. I'm getting conflicting info on my power supply (HP

Darn the only FX I see at bestbuy is the 5200. Has anyone used any of the other GeForce cards? Which ones work? How about the GeForce 6200 OC 256MB AGP (it's on sale this week for $100)?

Can anyone suggest as cheat (about $100 or less) graphic card that will work and is easy to install? I have the GeForce4 MX 440 and will try to upgrade. Sadly I only have a 250W power supply, so I need a card that will work with that and wont need to be plugged directly into the power supply.

"So long as you own both computers and you are the one playing the game on them, yes, that is fine. Just be sure that if you archive via SDC and then restore it on the other machine, you delete the file sig.bin in your GalCiv2 folder and reactivate the game there (sig.bin tells the game if it is activated, and is tied to the machine's configuration where it was generated)." [Sorry the quote feature/link/button wont work for me.] I just bought the game and love it,
