I just played my first suicidal game today, and it seemed to me that the only thing that got fixed in the diplomacy screen is that the AI wouldn't let me sell a technology for many thousands of credits, bankrupting them and making myself rich. In fact, there seemed to be a cap of about 1000 credits, past which they wouldn't deal with me.

I think what needs the most work is the diplomacy screen AI. I mean, I've had it where I was offering the AI something like 20,000 credits in exchange for only 2,000 and the AI refused. The AI should *never* refuse any offer like that! I mean, If I offered you 100 dollars in exchange for 10 dollars, there's no way you would refuse. It gets frustrating, because sometimes you really want something that the AI has, like a resource star base, but you can't make them "an offer you can't refuse", you
Reading this thread gave me the conviction to join the metaverse, because it is true - even if you're a great debater and have good things to say, having some nice metaverse stats can show others how well you know the game mechanics, and thus how much faith to put in some of your posts. Anyway, having heard lots of people here talk about their strategies, I figured, what the heck, I'll try a suicidal game -that will look nice on the forums <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s
A friend of mine has GalCiv 2 and told me its a great game and I should buy it. I downloaded the demo and see its a lot like MOO 2, except more complex. I would say that Galciv 2 is far, *far* less complex than MOO 2, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Bo
The big computing advantage of artificial intelligence is how it can coordinate a long term strategy. Its disadvantage is that it is inferior to humans in single turn tactical strategy. Right, because the human can micro-manage.... but the longer that the player micromanages, does that not give the AI more time in order to formulate it's strategy
Awesome! You can never have too much customization options.
Liquid cooling - what a joke. Anyone that would put liquid and electronic parts together in the same package is totally nuts. An accident just waiting to happen. Actually, as long as it's non-conductive, liquid cooling is a great way to cool a PC, just immerse the entire motherboard in it (but not the hard disks) If you don't beli
Earth 2150 trilogy. 3 games for 1 token!
How about this for the Drengin: Instead of just getting a whole bunch of ship on the main screen, two or three of those ships will join in the fighting every time there is a space battle, and disappear after that battle is finished?
or Tidal disrpution is less effective on aquatic worlds. Wouldn't tidal disruption be more effective against aquatic worlds, and less effective against worlds without or with little water?
I have to agree that spies need a lot of work. It seems that the AI is able to produce spies far faster than the player -- in my case even when I have the strongest economy I am never able to rid all of the spies off of my worlds... even when I dedicate the maximum amount of resources to producing spies. I can't really spy back, because I need to concentrate all of my effort on getting spies off of my world or else my production is crippled. A counter-espionage slider as well as a spy t
Hot-seat won't ever happen, peace phoenix was wrong. MP in some form will happen in expansion two. Actually, when I asked Cari if what you're saying about there "never being hotseat in an MP expansion" was true. She replied by saying that the feature set for a multi player expansion is not set yet.
Spend a token to get the earth 2150 trilogy.
Hey, what do you guys think about the solution I proposed ten posts ago. I'm pretty sure it's the absolute best way to deal with constructor micromanagement.
Extensive research. Really, I'm not joking. When I bought this game, my computer was running a 128 MB Graphics card. The game didn't work very well and I thought, "What gives? The GC2 box says 32 MB and this card is 128 MB. Why is it not working well?" So I did some research and found that the graphics card I had was a really poor card. Many gra
Before getting all worked up, why not try emailing [email protected] with your problem?
Set him up the bomb? For great justice, of course. arileth1, I would just ignore marc if that ever happens again, like I did earlier in the thread. Arguing with him just brings you down to his level.
Okay, I am not a programmer by an means. However, Hotseat is easy to add. I played a hotseat hack of CIV2 back in the days before civilization was ever multiplayer. and before the hack, we played it multiplayer by using the "change Civ" option in the cheat menu. This is a common misconception. There would be the obvious small interface changes n
They should have about 6 teams just for any cool stories. There are only 10 race slots including the player, so to make as many teams of two as possible you only need a maximum of 5 assignable teams teams.
I haven't tried any scenarios yet. Thanks.
In my last DA game I tried to create two teams at the game setup stage: one evil and one good. I was able to get the evil races to team up with myself, but I was unable to get the good races to team up with each other. I would suggest that in the game creation stage you allow the player to specify more than one team. For example, give 5 teams (with the player being on team 1), which would be the most teams the game could support with 10 races (5 teams of 2). This way, I could set all t
Yup, I'm running a 6800 ultra in a 4x slot right now.
Yeah, I've gotten this annoying one a few times, but I didn't want to waste time on those ships so I just loaded an earlier save.
I'm not sure if I like super abilities or not. Sure, a lot of balancing is needed, but they can be pretty fun sometimes. They also make it easier to create a unique custom opponent.
I haven't seen any tile bonuses either. I also haven't seen any good/neut/evil choices.
