I ordered and downloaded the Twilight expansion less than 3 hours ago, through Stardock Central. When I first booted it, it told me I needed to update the basic GC2 to 1.8 or higher, and I recall momentarily seeing a higher version number displayed on the splash page. But now I'm seeing: v1.80c Twilight of the Arnor beta 1 When I look at SDC, I don't see 1A being listed as available to me.

Reach for the Stars and the original Master of Orion I think were early influential titles for the galactic conquest games. SimCity definitely had a heavy influence, and put Will Wright and Maxis on the map. Sid Meier's original Civilization and Railroad Tycoon games spawned dozens of knockoffs. Doom definitely belongs on the list, and got thousands of players interested in designing their own levels through third party software. SSI gets credit with scoring a
I've had those fake modules trip me up before too, so it's easy to make the mistake if you're not paying attention. Once took a newly built 'colony' ship to a planet halfway across the map only to find out it was a fake module.
Anyway there is too much symbolism in GC2, even the animations/cinematics for different types of planetary invasions are exactly the same. It's just pure laziness. I guess it's not considered laziness to you then if a game requires a specific license to use concepts from Mr. Lucas, instead of designing its own universe from the ground up. I'm not certain if your agenda is to simply put down GC2, promote Star Wars products and Real Time Strategy, hype t
I thought this was pretty funny. I knew the other races would complain about a garrisoned starbase near their territory, but I'd never seen it done this way. I'm assuming it's because of the ships there, and not that it's an influence base.
Has the legal team investigated to make sure that George Lucas hasn't trademarked "Expanded Universe" ?
The best solution to the problem is a biological domestic co-inhabitant, most often referred to as a wife.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Brad really shouldn't wear a white shirt and tie, it makes the Frogboy look too much like a professional businessman.
Agreed on this. Until GalCiv2 has its own set of deities-- other than His Most Holy Frogboy of course-- I don't really care to see religion related topics being given featured status on the main page of a gaming site. Keep the Off Topic threads off the main page, and leave the Jack Chick proselytizing to Usenet groups. If those posters are looking for a real debate instead of just wanting to push people's buttons, they'll find more people to argue with them there than here. If the religious
Topic headline wins the Best Double Entendre Award.
...again, the devs weren't part of this promotion... I just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet, but let me try to understand this... Frogboy can be considered the King of Devs. Stardock is run by Frogboy. Are marketing campaigns for the company done without his input or approval? It was a noble effort to attempt damage control, but you probably should have waited until Monday. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif
I forgot one-- Max Steiner's score for the original King Kong (1933). Steiner was one of the first to develop individual themes or leitmotifs for the characters. The opening three notes of the main title are from Kong's theme, which echoes throughout the entire film.
An easy way is to click the 'Automate' tab for the miner to get it working. It will then drill an asteroid, and when finished, automatically look for the next one.
For classic scores, I tend to favor Bernard Herrmann-- Day the Earth Stood Still North by Northwest Psycho Jason and the Argonauts Taxi Driver John Williams' Superman theme was the first that came to mind for contemporary composers, as well as Danny Elfman's Batman theme.
Sounds really nice, we're already into triple digit temperatures here in Arizona. Now get back to work!
See this from CariElf, though it's slightly out of date and not specific to Dark Avatar: A Brief Guide to Modding Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords
I remember it, and had one of the original Aurora plastic kits of the UFO model. YouTube has some videos up from the show. Here's the opening credits (William Conrad of "Cannon" narrating): A Quinn Martin Production
Here's one of the sites I visit when I'm looking for new fonts. FontEmpire.com
Couple of dumb questions, but are they in .png format and about 128x128 in size? I think I had something similar a while back, and it was because I had them in there as .jpg's.
I don't think you can edit the post if it's the very first one.
One of the United Planet Council meeting topics that can come up is whether the races should share technology with other races. If the votes are in favor, you'll immediately see several new techs becoming available after the Council vote.
It's pretty cool, and it adds to the mix knowing you have to compete with the minor races for prime real estate along with the majors. I used to think of the minors as just possible trading partners and targets for attack.
Thanks Kryo, I'd never seen the minors build starbases before, but figured maybe I'd missed it somewhere since I've been away from forums for a few months. Lesson learned: Visit the site more.
I just started a game after loading the DA 1.6 final release, and first contact was made with the Jessuins. But they took the Influence Resource I had a constructor headed for and built a starbase on it. Is this supposed to happen now?
