I'm impressed with the music in GC2, and was wondering how it was recorded. Did you use an acoustic orchestra, synths/samplers, or a combination of both? And if it was synthed, what's your rig look like? Dabbling with orchestral synthesis was one of my hobbies 20 years ago, and the music of GC2 is in the style I was trying to achieve, but consistently failing.

Don't have the beta, but I ran into something similar today in GC2, and I think it was also with a constructor ship. However, I don't think it let me save the design.
As Cdr. Futility mentions above, try updating your graphics drivers.
Methinks John Titor has returned. WWW Link
But you don't need the CD in the drive to play the game. I wound up making a text file in Notepad with the serial number so I could access it for future reference and then copy/paste.
Metaverse and Library both are giving me the error as well.
I got GC2 about 2 weeks ago (after 2 weeks of playing the demo), and was disappointed by the lack of human females to select as a race leader. So I made a few of my own using a program called Poser. I guess these should go in the Library, but I'm not sure what I need to do to get these in the proper filepack to upload them there. I use Paint Shop Pro for imaging, so I can easily convert these to .png's. If anyone is interested in something like this, I'll work up a few more of them and try t
There doesn't seem to be anything like Star Trek's transporter technology in the game, so this means the troops have to enter the station either through an existing docking port or creating a breach in a bulkhead to make their own Temporary Airlock (perhaps an extension of force field technology). Another concern is how many attacking troops are allowed in the boarding party. If it's a small station with a maximum physical capacity of 500 persons, there's no way you're going to cram 10
Under My Account, I've uploaded images for my avatar, Metaverse characters, profile page, etc., but there's one image I'm not sure where it's supposed to show up. This is one identified as Desktop Screen Shot, but it doesn't show up in my profile or Metaverse character pages. Is it for the empire page, if I were to create an empire?
Yeah, I guess *every* alien battle would be a bit too much. Perhaps it could show just the battles from the 1st and 2nd ranked races other than yourself, and restrict those reports to only engagements between fleets. Bottom ranked races wouldn't have be included, as nobody cares what happens in Podunk Junction anyway.
When I was getting tutorial skip glitches, I ran the video in fullscreen mode instead of the page graphic and it went smoothly.
Dumb Question Department: Is it possible to view battles in the combat screen between the AI controlled races? On the downside, having such a feature might allow too much intelligence regarding the strengths and weaknesses of enemy fleets.
You are in a medium galaxy with abundant of everything and very high research, the only way to win is conquest, The difficulty is SUICIDAL , all AI are on incredible and every one decides to gang up on you . What do you do? For some reason, I'm reminded of Dennis Hopper's famous line in "Speed": "Pop quiz, hotshot. There's a bomb on
Make sure your graphics card drivers are the most recent, I bought a machine this past July and the drivers were from 2005.
The possibility (liklihood?) that Lordpinko was a total fabrication makes this forum my first personal experience of something I read about and then forgot during grad school in the '90s. Well, you've more schooling than me. I was too busy being in plays to study back in the early '70s, so I never got my bachelor's. <img src="http://im
First off, being new, I don't know anything about Lord Pinko, so I perhaps have no room to comment on his forum behavior. Second, as a former drama student myself (though it's been more years than I like to think), I have serious issues regarding his claim of an 'experiment' as referred to in Mumblefratz' original post. Certainly one of the ways an actor can learn is through observation of others. But observation of text written replies on a forum board provide little insight to an as
For great justice!
I've been lurking for a few weeks after downloading the demo and spending hours with it, and just bought the full game today. I'm impressed with what I've seen with the demo (still dl'ing the updates at the moment), and from what I've seen GCII looks like it's light years beyond what I consider the granddaddy of all galactic conquest games, the original Master of Orion. Kudos to the development team, I for one am pleased the game is turn based strategy, as it's the kind of thing I cut my teeth
