I've had similar problems, only that it's my own ships that lack graphical representation.

Could we *please* leave such things *out* of a strategy game? While it might look nifty the first few times, it's just going to be a resource-hog once the novelty is gone. (And given that GalCiv2 already is pushing against the 2Gb limit, hogs are *bad*!)
This thread is nonsense, and hence a waste of time
Let's say you buy a used car...a Ford for instance. When you get it, the engine is missing. Why would Ford have any responsibility for the situation? If the person who sold you the game rips you off, rip that *seller's* throat, not StarDocks.
Was even better on the Amiga, mostly due to the better sound capabilities. The thing with Elite was that before that, there were only space shooters. All of a sudden, you had this game in which you were totally free to do whatever wanted, whether it was to act like a space pirate, peacefull trader or a stupid jerk shooting at the docking station and get swamped by policeships.
EA Sports the strongest of the labels?!?! Really, just how many icehockey, football and american football games does one need or have use for?!?
This thread has way too much merit to be left at the bottom of the sea of forgetfullness, especially since the trends here predicted now are visible for all to see.
Only problem would be to keep it from being abused as profits rise with every turn of travel.
While I agree that it sometimes requires NAT-forwading, the speed certainly isn't a matter of complaint, especially not when compared to downloading files in high demand from a single source. (least not if you keep your ratios high... I seldom go below 2:1 and usually end at 3:1) To be given the option would be nice though.
(Ctrl+A equals Mark All) (Ctrl+C equals Copy) (Ctrl+V equals Paste) Start button -> All Programs -> Stardock -> SmartException
the quasi lawyers Refering to me, or those who not only use quotes without regard to the context but also use snippets from BUSINESS LOUNGE and the like as the sole base for their argumentation without bothering to read up on at least the general principles behind it? Unfortunatly a growing problem everywhere I'm afraid... but what to expect from a world more concerned with Paris Hilton's sentence than the situation in Darfur? <img src="http:
Stage 1: Someone buys the game from Stardock. If it was an enduser, there is a business relation established between StarDock and the buyer. That means SD has to supply the user with all support promised, while the user cannot make claims for anything above that. (Note: by Swedish law, and common practice in most of EU, the user IS allowed to reverse-engineer etc to make the program suitable for the buyer. However the modified code must not be disclosed for anyone but the user an
An other suggestion would be to implement the bittorrent protocol into SDC downloads. Certainly would eliminate the server overload whenever a new stable version is released
What I miss most in the game are keyboard commands for various tasks, as finding the key on the keyboard is a lot faster than the current mouse interface. Also, the ship/planet finder could use an update in how to sort the items. How about making a drop down menu of the different categories so one doesn't have to scroll through all the various attributes (like highest defence overall/higest Beam defence/highest MD def etc)? Finally, executing Automoves before ending
While at it, why do the AI persist on planting enhancing buildings (powerplants, coordinators etc) on the bonus tiles and the actual production buildings on ordinary tiles?
And morale bonus tiles don't help, because you can't set a seperate tax rate for each planet. Unless EVERY colony in my empire had a morale improvement tile, I can't figure that in to what my average planet uses. Morale tiles would allow you to increase the population on that planet until it conforms with the general morale in your empire thus circumventing the need for planetary taxrates.
Is it just me being dizzy watching the numbers when altering the taxrate, or hasn't morale an effect on production efficiency as well? Also, why 79% instead of 80% when the hardcapped penalty begins at 81%?
If I recall correctly, the attacker goes for the highest quota Attack/(Defence+Hitpoints). That means if you have a puny fleet and a SB with all defencive modules installed, the SB will be attacked.
Doesn't seem to happen with trade routes though...just regular ships. Try see what happens when you have the Galacit Privateer and find yourself at war...Least for me, my freighters went their usual step, and in hot pursuit loads of enemy warships...one step per turn.
The adress is the one in the SE report that I mailed in. Uncertain whether the info was included or not, I posted the debuginfo here. Added: I think I screwed it up when starting the game to check versions. Hopefully the SE-report is sufficent.
Should be noted that the C-media driver still isn't stable, but this error didn't occur in the usual fashion when the sound device goes highwire.

The romulans send a ship to tell them to go away. So should you. Problem is that the "Go Away!"-option does not exist. Encountering a ship in your space gives you the option between full scale war and letting the ship do whatever it wants to until there is a full scale war. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 cla
Possible,but not plausable.
I have far more in common with the minimum wage worker that the truly wealthy. Well,,that is a matter of point of view really. From the low,,you certainly have much more in common with the wealthy as you most likely don't have to worry too much about putting food on the table,,paying the rent and buying decent clothing. You also have
